The seating outside on the yard is very nice. regarding food now that is different.portions are very small. pork souvlaki portion is just for 2 people (they should tell you this and not wait until they bring them on the table and it wont be enough for four). It is quite tasty though. Chicken souvlaki is not tasty at all and too salty. beef liver well cooked. They have a special dish called kaloirka which on essence are mince dumplings.they put so much butter you cant taste anything else.tyrokafteri is very good. Now regarding the service....they were asking continuously for us to order but when we did, it took forever for the food to arrive. We asked for something else three times before they brought it.thye did not know the drink menu and the had to go inside to ask if they had specific wine(retsina). if you don't know all of your menu, you should just bring is a standard drinks menu at the table for us to decide. price wise it is on the...
Read moreThe food is meant to be really good, but it’s quite difficult to validate that when you receive such horrendously slow service. Especially when it’s a party of 9 and it ends up so disjointed.
It took 20 minutes to take our drinks order, and then 45 minutes (!!) to take our food order. And then another 45 minutes to start getting our food, which then arrived as one dish every 10 minutes, for food that was meant to be shared - i.e. it took 1.5hrs to start getting our food.
When we raised this with the waiters they told us to “have some patience”. For a restaurant with an otherwise good reputation, you’d think they would be organised enough to serve people in a timely manner.
I had to leave “early” (i.e . After 2 hrs), because I had a baby with me, which meant I missed some dishes and dessert.
I was also told that we had to chase down the waiters to both get the bill and then again to pay it! Makes me wonder if we should have...
Read moreAvoid like the plague! Just had one of the worst meals ever in Nicosia, have tried many restaurants over the past 20 years … this is a souvlaki place but the souvlaki wasn’t cooked - worst experience of a local restaurant ever! The souvlaki was undercooked, some pieces raw, the fries (chips) tasted and looked like they had been fried in month old oil, the server took our order but then brought the wrong food, another waiter kept coming over to our table to apologies continually but no offer to change any of the undercooked and old looking food to something fresh when it was pointed out to them! Appalling restaurant pretending to be authentic Cypriot when it turned out it’s a northern Greek over priced food joint and has no resemblance to Cypriot food! The atmosphere was ‘ok’ and there were smiles from some staff but the food was utterly appalling. One Star because there’s no minus...
