My family recently visited Nicosia and, whilst searching for a truly authentic Cypriot restaurant, we were recommended this hidden gem. Tucked away in an unassuming part of the city Taverna 4307 gave us not only one of the very best meals of our trip, but also some of the very best and warmest hospitality we’ve experienced anywhere. Taverna 4307 is owned and run by the most delightful family who could not do enough for us - especially when I revealed I’m vegetarian, something that seemed to stump many of the other restaurants we visited during our time In Cyprus - serving dish after dish of delicious food. All off menu. The chef asked us to trust him and I’m jolly glad we did. So, the food and hospitality was excellent, however, what made this lovely taverna truly stand out for us was the owner’s amazing and eclectic collection of 20th Century antique appliances. You pass by these on your way to the loos upstairs and, believe me, if it wasn’t for the lure of the delicious food downstairs, one could spend a long time pouring over mid-century record players, etc. All in all, the most wonderful restaurant. The joy and memory of our visit will stay with me for...

Service was not bad but not as warm and friendly as described by others. Parts of the food were nice and tasty but much of the meat was overcooked, dry and partially burned. What also bothered me is that we were 2 adults and 2 kids and ordered mezzes for 3 but were given enough food to feed at least 5 grown men. We saw the same applied for the other two tables occupied which resulted in everyone taking at least another full meal per person home in a take away box. For us this was no option since we stayed at a nearby hotel which probably meant all of our leftovers ended up in the bin. The restaurant is really affordable since the “mezze (sharing) meal” was only 23 Euro per person but we would actually have preferred getting less higher quality food (and juicier meats) and paying a bit more. Final comment was on the live music which added a nice local touch but was so loud that we had difficulties hearing each other throughout the meal and ended up leaving sooner than we...

The souvla (bbq) was so tasty and soft and sacculent we could have stayed there eating more! All the accompanying dishes, taxini, halloumi, sausages, mushrooms and salad were all very appetizing. We had their Sunday lunch seating, but they also have live music on weekend nights and in the summer there is a beautiful little outside area. Our service was fantastic, the owner was cheeky and pleasant and interested in his establishment and in us as customers. Would definitely return here, it was a...
