I have been a client of this restaurant for many years. I never expressed any complaints because nothing ever happened. BUT last week on Friday we went there for dine in with my family as always. The terryaki salmon had a strange flavor so we left most of it without eating it, and 3 of tuna nigiri looked, smelled and tasted strange. I called the host of the night and told him that there is something wrong with those pieces. He asked if I needed a replacement, but of course I said not since it was the last 3 pieces and there was no reason for it, suddenly he brought the check like he was saying, that he wanted us to leave. I sent an email at the same night though complaining for the incident both for the bad food and the check on the table without asking for it. The next morning our stomachs were terrible and an hour after waking we started running to the toilet, most probably we had a food poisoning. At night when I could finally stand on my legs, I send again an email regarding to what happened to us. AGAIN NO REPLY. I waited until Tuesday I sent another email again complaining about their attitude, not caring, not answering. Again I waited until today and guess what... NO ANSWER. This review is mainly to complain for the misbehaviour on their part, for showing no interest at all that our health was damaged because of something that went wrong in their kitchen. I never like writing bad reviews, but the behaviour from their part was...
Read moreI like Akakiko's food. I've been there numerous times but it's been a while since my last visit. I visited yesterday and I was surprised to see that the prices have been significantly increased! I was expecting an increase due to the inflation but we are talking almost 30% since my last visit. Still, for the quality you get the prices are okay-ish, but definitely on the expensive side. The place was renovated and the new design is nice. The chairs were very uncomfortable through; I was wearing shorts and I literally suffered! My biggest complaint is the service. The milliseconds we emptied a plate, the waitress was there to pick it up. This is very rude in my opinion and as if they are pushing you out the door. They even collected the plate of my husband who had not finished eating yet. They even asked if they can take a plate that was in the middle of the table (for sharing) which was not emptied yet! And the process was messy too... Why don't you guys wait for everyone to finish and ask if you can pick up everything instead of coming and going to take every single plate and fork and chopstick the second it stops being used? Are you guys short on plates? Do you desperately need to wash them because you don't have any left for the other tables? This is truly ridiculous! We were all annoyed by this. I am going back because I like the food, but I am definitely complaining in person about this if it...

Very good menu selection of the tastiest sushi I've encountered (it should have to do with something in the rice preparation which doesn't clog dry your throat as in the rest of the sushi places I've been to...) and also offers near perfect vegetable, fish or meat warm dishes. This restaurant chain which for me turned out to be a gem in this city, is well established as a better quality restaurant for a considerable amount of years now, but only lacks in a couple of things, namely, the long waiting for food preparation (if ordering warm food). The staff is well prepared and quite professional, but the ineffective organisation of the kitchen makes the restaurant staff look unprofessional, overlapping each other and making mistakes. Overall, the dining experience is great, save for the few glitches in late/wrong serving… Prices match the food, but not the service/organisation which is relatively low by comparison, hence only 4 stars for this otherwise brilliant Asian...
