I visited "To Ellinikon" in Egkomi, and it was a delightful experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive.
We started with the zucchini balls, which were super tasty with a soft, interior with the feta giving a nice savory flavor.
The ravioli was another standout dish, filled with cheese and topped with a creamy tomato sauce that was simply delicious.
The cheese balls with honey, however, were not my favorite. They were a little too heavy for my taste.
On the other hand, the grilled pleurotus mushrooms were very tasty, though a bit on the expensive side. They were perfectly grilled.
For the main course, I tried the kebab yiaourtlou, and it was a highlight of the evening. The dish was packed with spices and aromatics, offering a comforting and flavorful experience.
The fried calamari was also a hit, crispy, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection.
The prawns saganaki was a smaller portion compared to the price, but the flavorful sauce made up for it. It was ideal for dipping some bread.
The grilled octopus was nicely prepared, with a tender texture and great flavor.
The seafood kritharoto was another favorite, perfectly cooked and hearty, with a delicious taste that seafood lovers would appreciate.
While the desserts were a bit underwhelming and not something I’d recommend, the overall experience at "To Ellinikon" was very positive. The variety of dishes makes it a great choice for both meat lovers and vegetarians, and the availability of fish dishes is a big plus. Reasonable prices, along with the convenience of parking space, make this restaurant a fantastic option for a casual and enjoyable dining...
Read moreExtremely disappointed with the food today. I have been there a couple of years ago and the food was great. Today, were were a group of 8 and none of them enjoyed the food: Salad and appetizer portions are very small and over-priced We had 2 orders of the 500gr Pork Chop and probably the fat, was 200gr, the bone was another 200gr, so you get around 100gm of meat. Plus they were cooked rare, even thought you don't get asked for your cooking preference Shrimps, were battered and fried which was very pointless to batter small shrimp. The taste was very blunt there was more batter than shrimp. They should have been cooked without battering Kotsi, was well cooked with a glazing sauce. But honestly nothing special or with any particular taste. I did need to add extra spices to make it somewhat special Fries... TOTAL DISASTER.... never had any worse fries than these. They were ugly looking, looking burned, and very soggy. They looked and tasted like they were cooked 2 days ago, and re-fried to be be served. Even the cheapest restaurant has better fries.
I would have rated this place with 1 start, but the only reason they get 2 is because of the atmosphere, service and cleanliness.
Such a shame, because it used to be a really nice place. I don't know what went wrong. We had a 12pm reservation, which mean it was empty so there's not excuses for the poor food quality, because they were busy.
The final verdict, is that the 4 families that were there today, are simply not...
Read moreMy 3 friends and I visited the restaurant on a Sunday night shift, not very busy. The menu consists of mainly Greek from all over Greece, main land and the islands. A lot of cheese options were available and also different seafood fried dishes were offered. One of our favourite was seafood kritharoto (pictured). It was also not pricey, I would say value for money. 4 people, 10 dishes, 84€. The only downside for us was that this place is really kids friendly, so it can become quite noisy pretty easily. So, if you are looking forward to a quiet, charming visit maybe you should skip this place. We will be...
