I have been to the Hani tavern several times (a fitting name because it is as sweet as Honey) and I can say that it is at the top of my culinary preferences. I am an avowed fan of traditional Cypriot food and I regret to note that it is becoming a little harder to find. I recommend everyone to try it. I wish I could eat at Hani every day if I could. Everything is cooked to perfection and the owner is an extraordinary man, welcoming, warm, a special host. The menu is rich, for all tastes and not only Cypriot food, but Cypriot food is my favorite. I have no words to recommend this original, typical Cypriot location. Unfortunately, in recent years, I have noticed that these original Cypriot jewels, especially from less touristic areas, are being lost unnoticed, many of the places we frequent in this area, Cypriot taverns, have closed or completely changed the menu and I don't have words to say how sorry I felt. Unable to reach Hani, I went to another tavern and asked for Sheftalia. What I got at that tavern, which I will not name, was just a bad imitation and I was extremely disappointed - the cook was not Cypriot there and the inferior quality of the product left me completely disappointed. I thought it was blasphemy to go to Cyprus and ask for Sheftalia and get something vaguely similar cooked by someone who was not Cypriot. Cypriots respect their food. Cypriot cuisine is Mediterranean, Cypriot food is the healthiest and tastiest. In addition to the meat dishes, be sure to try the vegetable dishes as well, you will be surprised. Don't miss the opportunity to get off the highway and dine at Hani, you won't regret it. Personally, I will return to Hani every time I'm in the area and go there with my...

Free small Greek appetizer accouterments when dining in. I think we ordered the wrong dishes to be honest. We got 2 chicken dishes, prepared differently, and they were just alright. Grilled chicken & baked chicken with a slightly flavored marinade. It was okay. Beans were good, needed more salt. Definitely were able to get leftovers to eat later in the day.
Service was nice, atmosphere is super chill & relaxed. They also have local or in-house products for sale at the front of the restaurant. Cool!
Seems like a known spot? When we came, 2 huge buses of tourists were just about leaving. If you happen to stop by here, get something else besides...
Read moreWe popped in for a light lunch (beans with celery and carrots and halloumi, eggs and chips and some lovely olives, chillies, tomato, cucumber - all delicious) - we loved everything. Very friendly owners/staff. A traditional Cypriot breakfast/brunch/lunch restaurant. We are very much looking forward to trying more on the menu which consists of casseroles. grilled items, snacks and sandwiches as well as varieties of breakfasts. Plenty of parking over the main road - it's the last place on the right of the village going towards Paphos (as that road is currently closed again I suggest stopping here for food and drink before using the A6 highway - you...
