Jean Paul's Bistro Holandská — Restaurant in okres Brno-město

This place surely doesn't save on amount of meat or dried tomatoes used in the meals. I liked it a lot. I am used from other places that if I go for cream risotto with whatever, it's always a lot of rice and just a bit of that whatever. It's not like this at all here. Another thing that I liked is taste of meals. I tried few of them and got never disappointed. What I didn't like much is that the place repeatedly doesn't have raclette, which is supposed to be grilled Swiss cheese. I would like to try it some day. But every time I ask about it, the place never has it. Another thing that I don't like much is noise and smell at the place. It's really a bistro - everything is prepared at the spot, which makes a lot of noise, and also makes air smelly. Totally not a chill place to sit and enjoy your meal. A system for dirty dishes is also not solved ideally. One of the walls is full of shells - some of them have items for sell, some of them have some decorations, and some of them on the left side of the wall are full of dirty used dishes. Tak konečně se mi po letech podařilo dát si v tomto bistru denní obědové menu. Většinou bývá vyprodané již o půl dvanácté. Prezentace celkem fajn, až na tu panenku, která vypadá, že byla mučena tepelnou přípravou příliš dlouho, ale vlastně byla celkem dobrá a vůbec ne tak vysušená, jak to na fotce vypadá. Co bylo horší byla ta hnědá neidentifikovatelná omáčka, která měla zvláštní umělou chuť. Brambory s dipem celkem dobré. Občas sem do bistra chodíme na těstoviny a ty jsou většinou výborné. Bohužel se tím člověk nemůže ládovat každý den, protože s tím množstvím másla a parmazánu by z něho byla kulička. Proto tedy moc nechápu, proč nevaří denní menu v takovém množství, aby si ho člověk mohl dát třeba ještě ve dvanáct hodin. Zvláště v této době, kdy na Holandské už není moc možností stravování nechápu, proč nevyužít tento fakt, co nejvíce k vlastnímu prospěchu. Pobočce ani nepřidává na kvalitě velmi nepříjemná paní za kasou, která ani neumí pozdravit, natož pak třeba řešit stížnosti ke spokojenosti zákazníka. Až si zde budu moci dát denní menu opravdu každý den a paní u kasy se naučí, jak se chovat k zákazníkům, ráda se sem budu...

I just love their food. It's one of those few places in Brno where you really feel they understand how good food is supposed to taste and look. It's fresh, it's seasonal and it feels they use high quality ingredients.
