In short, though I enjoyed the overal experience, I was expecting a bit more.
The style of this establishment indubitably gives an indication that this is a luxurious dining experience. I really liked the styling and the overal of the furniture and other design aspects of the place. Seating, though stylish, might provide certain discomfort for some (friend of mine, who mountains slightly over 2m had quite a problem sitting comfortably, since the chair was too narrow, perhaps a feature not to keep the diners for too long inside). The music was enhancing the overall experience.
The staff was very professional and provided us with all the information necessary. The dishes I chose were palatable and the dessert mochi might have been the best one I had in Czechia.
The most unpleasant part was when it came to paying. The discrepancy in prices between their web pages and what I had to pay were surprising. I was also charged for a different dessert than I ordered, which I brought to waiter's notice (I prefer being charged for what I order, I do highlight discrepancies even when I am charged erroneously less), to which he replied: "It is only XX crown difference." That I would not expect with this kind of establishment and I consider it unacceptable.
I will visit this place again, but the unfortunate memory will stay with me (and hopefully not spoil the taste...
Read moreI had an amazing time at this restaurant! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and relaxed by the incredible environment and the friendly staff. They spoke great English and provided an English menu, which was really helpful.
For starters, I tried the soups and I have to say that the Suimono was a real standout. The taste and flavor were amazing, and the fish inside was incredibly tasty. It's definitely a highly recommended dish. The Mandu kuk and Jeju soups were also good, although I personally didn't enjoy the Mandu kuk as much.
Moving on to sushi, I ordered the Maguro maki, 63 Roll, and Tempura roll. The 63 Roll was the highlight of the meal for me - it was the best roll I've ever tried! The taste was incredible and the flavor was full and satisfying. The Maguro maki was also good, but the Tempura roll didn't impress me much. It had an interesting taste, but the frying made it too heavy and the spreads were too much.
The environment of the restaurant was really incredible and calm. The decor was interesting and provided a great atmosphere. The only thing I would have preferred is more flowers. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who loves sushi or wants to try some great soups. The staff is incredible, the food is great, and the environment is welcoming...
Read moreTheir service was superb, positioning of plates and presentation of food seem very important to them. Since it is very pricey, and they are a fine dining Japanese style restaurant, I am going to be very picky on the food.
Their maki was good. My partner love their foiegras unagi roll. I personally think the foiegras was slightly overpowering so I could not taste the unagi.
The tuna tataki and yakiudon was so-so. The udon was overcooked, so it was less chewy. The genmaicha was too weak for me, perhaps leaving the tea leaves in would help?
The annoying part for me was the fact that they changed what was in the mori sashimi set without asking me. It is understandable if certain fresh ingredients are seasonal. If they are unavailable, for the standard of the restaurant, I felt it was crucial to ask the customer beforehand. Yes, they apologised and discounted later. But I ordered the dish for the swordfish belly, the tuna, the salmon belly and the uni. Out of 4, 3 were swapped out. Having said that, everything was very fresh. Salmon belly...
