Long story short, a nice clean restaurant with average home cook meals. The service is friendly and warm, and the atmosphere is very nice.
First I have to compliment the complimentary bread, very delicious. I have been here twice, once I ordered a focaccia, which is not done like a proper focaccia and it is so garlicky I only had garlic breath for 2 days. Then I ordered a pizza, they have a lot of toppings, and it’s done quite nicely. The virgin mojito was good, I then ordered tiramisu for dessert, it is a big portion and tastes good, I cannot say it was a bad meal.
The second time here I ordered the special Gnocchi di Giovanni, which were like supermarket gnocchi, the vegetables and the sauce were cooked well, but they tasted very plain and average, I have to compliment the meat which was seasoned nicely, and portion size was just right to fill you if you hungry, over all nice meal but definitely nothing special. I then had the carrot cake, which came nicely presented with garnishes and was lovely.
In conclusion, it is your local average Italian restaurant that is pleasant, but it will not...
Read moreThis is neither an Italian or a Mexican restautant, but it is a pretty good Czech pizzeria. I see a lot of 1-star reviews from idiots who ordered their pizza via external delivery services (foodora etc.) and expected anything else than a disaster. If you are smart and come get the pizza yourself straight out of the oven, you might find out it's really good. As for other meals, their pasta and gnocchi are pretty decent IMO, but the burgers are nothing special and not worth the price, and if you are looking for actual Mexican quisine, keep looking. The tables are too close to each other, the acoustics is bad, and sometimes there is a stench of burnt oil in the air, so it's not the best dining experience. The prices went up into unreasonable territory, but the pizzas from the lunch menu are still decent value IMO (they are huge and delicious). To sum up, if you are looking for a great Italian restaurant for a special occasion, this place will probably not meet your expectations, but if you just want a delicious pizza for lunch, they...
Read moreUsed to come here fairly often few years ago and after a long pause I decided to give it a try today. I had mexican bean soup and beetroot risotto with goat cheese, both from lunch menu and what a disappointment, out of the two, the complimentary home-made bread and butter was easily the best dish (Separate review of both below👇). Avoid, unless you want mediocre italian/mexican cousine.
The soup was watery, tasted more of capsicum than beans and had loads of oil floating on top. In the soup, pieces of overcooked capsicum and onion were suspended together with roughly 20 beans and tablespoon of sourcream. Presentation was disappointing as well, the soup was spilled all over the bowl.
The risotto looked lovely pink and was rather nicely presented in a soup plate with some rocket and goat cheese on top. However, after tasting it my joy has quickly disappeared. There was nothing, the food was bland. No salt, no pepper, no signs of beetroot, only the rocket and goat cheese had some taste in them. Man, I was looking forward to...
