Restaurace U Michálků — Restaurant in Prague

DISAPPOINTED!!! I was travelling to Prague from UK and stayed in the A&O hostel nearby. Decided to try this local Czechia restaurant so I spent an hour before hand translating their menu on Google translate and decide my order to prevent wasting their time on arrival. I arrived at the restaurant and said table for one please, the waiter kind of didn't understand what I said and he spoke Czech to me which I clearly have no clue what he was going on about, so I repeated myself saying table for one please with one index finger sticking up and then pointing to myself. The waiter at this point must have thought how on earth am I going to take your order if we cannot communicate so he sweeped both his hand in midair as giving me a signal to go away, I won't want your oder and he just turned around and walked back into the kitchen from the bar he was standing in. I was very disappointed to be turned down and like to warn all visitors that don't speak Czech not to waste your time in getting there and get turned down because this restaurant is not...

Incredible rude waiter! Me and my family (4 members) went there and sat down at a table, trying to get a menu and order something to eat...a waiter came and said something about "checz, checz", took all the menus from all the tables and left! I didn't understand and waited for him...after a while, I went to the bar and asked him if we should leave...he said something and I understood that we had to! (time: 20:00, closing at 00:00) We were really shocked! I've never met something like this! PS: I consider my family a polite one, and we didn't do anything to offend him...this was my 2 daugthers first impression in...

I went together with my wife. There were still enough tables. We waited a moment at the entrance and the staff ignored us. After a moment I asked the bartender if we could sit down (in English) and without looking at me he mumbled something in Czech in a rough way. I asked him if he had said no, and while some people at the bar laughed, one of them deigned to say: "no". After this I read the reviews more carefully and it does seem that they are racist...
