U Krbu — Restaurant in Prague

I did not purchase anything at this establishment, as I was refused service after asking a perfectly valid scientific question — namely, what is the specific gravity of the beer you serve? (ie, is it 10° or 12° Plato?).

The person behind the bar responded simply, “ležák”, which is a general category, not a specific answer. When I asked again, politely seeking clarification about the actual gravity of the beer, I was met not with information, but with arrogance, defensive behaviour, and what I can only describe as a kind of cancel culture response — an unwillingness to serve someone who dares ask a question that momentarily unsettles the performative expertise of the proprietor.

It seems that losing face in front of regulars was deemed a greater offence than failing to respect a customer’s basic right to ask a question about what they are being sold.

I left and walked to another nearby pub, where I was treated with the decency and respect any paying customer deserves — and where my question was answered...

Horrible place, evil spirits of the nearby cemetery brought me there. 23:25 o’clock, 35 minutes before the official close and 3 minutes after serving me beer, the two gangster waiters started telling me something sounding like “go home”, pointing at the exit, at the clock, opening the door next to me, joking around in filthy czech and apparently commenting myself trying to appologetically finish my enormous beer in one minute. No, I am not visiting this place...

Jídlo OK, obsluha (slečna) rychlá a ochotná, ceny v pořádku. Chyběla mi WiFi, navíc uvnitř budovy je velmi špatný 3G signál, takže on-line stav na mobilu či tabletu je v podstatě nereálný. Podnik vůbec neakceptuje platební karty! Přesto jsme zašli s kolegy ještě jednou. Venku pršelo, restaurace plná. Číšník nám řekl, že můžeme do salónku do zadní části. Salónek je opravdu velmi honosný název pro sklepní prostory, kde přímo nad stolem byla větrací mříž, ze které na mě foukalo, zeď obsahovala plíseň a obecně bylo prostředí "salónku" velmi podprůměrné. Po číšníkovi jsem chtěl udělat smažený sýr s hranolky, který jsem předchozí den bez problémů dostal, ale bylo mi řečeno, že to není možné, neboť kuchař nestíhá. OK. Díky prostředí a díky tónu, který číšník při tomto oznámení použil jsme si nedali nic (tedy 3 lidé) a odešli. Podnik přišel o tržbu, o zákazníky do budoucna a přišel k této recenzi. Dokud si neuvědomí firmy, že oni jsou tu pro nás a ne my pro ně, bude to vypadat...
