A rather dark and unassuming dining hall featuring two huge TV's constantly tuned to sports channels may not portend exceptional dining, but looks can be deceiving. Looking like a set from Game of Thrones before it was fully dressed, the ambience and patronage of Restaurant Na Vinici lean decidedly masculine, but there is real distinction in the kitchen. I wandered into this near-empty bear-den of a restaurant one night near closing time because it was down the hill from my AirBnB in an upscale Prague suburb, and nothing else was open. Thanks to their wi-fi and Google Translate I managed to grasp the Czech-only menu and order a grilled Tomahawk pork chop amid my skepticism. The plate that appeared was a delight: a massive sizzling chop resting on a bed of green beans sauteed with pancetta. It was perfectly prepared and delicious, even to a fading carnivore like me. And for the equivalent of under $9, a spectacular bargain. I finished every carveable scrap on the plate. And went back the next night for more, which didn't disappoint. This is a real find, and worth going out of the way for, which it is, because it's essentially under the radar in a residential neighborhood most tourists would never stumble on. Lucky for me, I did, and I intend to return every night...

During pandemic it is still open from 11 - 14 with great options for takeaway, you can come over order at the spot and waiting doesn't take long 10 minutes maximum. The best place to eat traditional czech cuisine. Has excellent vibes with great and yummy 😋 food every day different options and take away too if you lazy to cook and passing by. Loved the food but the waitress didn't understand my order so brought me less items than what I asked for. And I couldn't rectify this because the kitchen was already closed by the time this came to light. But she compensated for this by suggesting a cold dessert for takeaway.
