Emma Emma — Restaurant in Aarhus Municipality

One of the places the words soul food fit perfectly. We‘ve been there yesterday with our two little daughters short befor closing. Because half Emma‘s stuff had party the night befor, her hole family was helping out. And they were great, made an amazing job and filled the place with a warm, cozy and familiar atmosphere. We allways felt welcome, what‘s not always the case with two girls (4 and 1), who are just semi professional in sitting still……. The interior is nordic, spartanious, plain and pragmatic. Everything a place like this should be. The clou is, that it‘s also warm, cozy and very well structured. It seems like Emma put a lot of thinking, passion and love into this place. Look at the details. The way they present their food and drinks, the beautiful glases, the fresh flower decotation, the nice woolen blankets and things maybe just parents with small kids recognize…….a big bathroom and two changing bords for babies. And the food……amazing. We hat the crispy tempeh bowl and the crispy chicken salat with beetroot. Just perfect. A Dream! An impressive and delicious way to combine the ingridiens. I have to say i‘m a bit jealousy cause i have no clou how she prepared most of it. So no chance for me to try some of it myself at home. Que triste…… Unfortunatly we are leaving Århus tonight and Emma‘s place is 1.000 km away from our flat…. No place half similar in our city :-(

We left in a good mood with a big smile. Above all Emma and her place should stay for long. They diserve it. It needs a lot of courage to run this place or lets say get it started (they opened the spot just 2 years ago) in times like these with all the corona...

Friendly staff, great atmosphere. Although, you have to leave & go outside, next door to the bakery to buy certain pastries. They only offer mobile pay in the bakery so if you don't have it, there's some walking back and forth. The pin pad at the cafe allowed me to see the price in CAD and DKK and choose my payment option, which was a nice feature. There was a 3.5% additional charge to pay in CAD which is about average :) 3 stars for atmosphere because although it was a very nice place, we were sat right outside the bathroom door which had a lineup right next to our table and we had to jump back and forth between locations to buy the fastelavnsboller. Beautiful looking food, small and not a big selection. Very little nibbles so as to keep with the healthy eating atmosphere in Aarhus. I didn't understand the water with all drinks. High quality food but a little more expensive. Scandinavian stylish interior design, classy. But small tables inside, conservatory is prettier. Ideal for mums and babies but not for excitable toddler..., but is anywhere?! :-) beautiful place for adults to go for an afternoon chat...
