It is a huge shame that I can't give a better score than 2.
The setting of the place is really nice, the lighting and design are pleasant and well thought. Service was quick and on point, not a single problem.
However, I go to a restaurant for the food and given that the place has an Italian name and theme I expected an Italian pizza. We were served the flattest pizza I ever tried in Aarhus. I ordered pizza Diavola which is basically margerita with spianata /"salami" slices. The spianata was good, but seemed local, not Italian, usually the Italian one curls when cooked and doesn't remain entirely flat (as I was served). Still, the cheese on top was overcooked and the dough as mentioned was flat without a single hint of fermentation, almost feels like they prepared the dough only 2 hours prior. It could also be that pizzaiolo doesn't know how to open the dough but still I am not convinced its at least a 24 hour dough rise when ideally it should be 48 hours.
All I can say is I was left with huge disappointment for an overpriced store-bought level pizza. I was invited to go this place so I didn't look it up before, but given that the entire theme was Italian and I was served anything but an...
Read moreMy son is severely allergic to nuts, and the owner greeted us in the door by explaining the measurements they take to accomodate this. They are attentive and caring and provide amazing service, even in specific circumstances like this.
We were there for my daughters birthday - she turned seven - and we always enjoy taking our kids here. They make sure that there is room for everyone - young adults on a date, groups of friends, or families with kids. The athmosphere is calm and cozy.
The food is of course amazing. Authentic italian pizzas - great selection to choose from, you can't go wrong.
When we left, the chef invited my son and husband into the kitchen where my son made his very own pizza. This was a very great experience for him - as a three year old.
All in all, this is the place we always go to, because of the amazing service, the cosy athmosphere and...
Read moreDelicious authentic Italian pizza! A few notes, from me, an American, to Americans who may be reading this: This pizza is served uncut, as per the European fashion. This, of course, offers a distinct advantage, as you can devour an entire pizza and still say you only had "one piece." Prices are around $14 USD for a good sized pizza. Tons of unique flavors if you're feeling adventurous, and good ol' sauce and mozzarella (the margherita, pictured here) if you're looking for something simpler. Everyone in the shop is friendly and patient and menus are in Danish/Italian and English. Be sure to indicate tap water when ordering water, unless you wish for chilled bottled mineral water (which is delicious but not free). I've been here twice so far, once dining in and once for take-away, and the pizzas are...
