Pizza Propria — Restaurant in Aarhus Municipality

Sorry for 3 stars - but I find it difficult to evaluate a pizza restaurant. Reason: I love pizza - the neapoletana style! Privately I "do" 72h sourdough pizza in a P134h with hand selected indredients.

The restaurant As a restaurant, the Pizza Propria will get 4 stars. cosy place tidy and clean not too big (here you are a customer and not a table with a number) which is also a negative thing since they can only serve a very limited amount of customers delivery service and pick up service payments by credit card (google pay) are accepted woodfired oven

Nothing was negativ from a restaurant point of view.

The Pizza - from my point of view THE REASON for visiting a place: It's not neapoletana but roma style. The crust is soft and the dough not as fluffy as neapoletana. I also missed a distinct salty taste in the dough and the tomato sauce. The ham and mushrooms were nice. The mushrooms were also almost tasteless. But a decent pizza, just far behind my personal expectations. The pictures here in google show huge difference in the dough quality.

Really nice pizza with thick crust and fresh quality ingredients. Cute down to earth restaurant, clean and classic. There is a lot of take away traffic and its a small place so it might be hard to get a table. The restaurant has a selection of nature wines and the staff member was enthusiastic about the place and seemed busy and in a good mood. The service was friendly and open without being pushy or overly attentive. Felt like ideal Danish service and we felt very comfortable!

My favourite part is the ability to order a surprise pizza (pizza of the day) I get to avoid making a decision, the chef can use up ingredients they have in surplus and we entertained ourselves with trying to guess what exactly it was. Win win! (But only if you eat everything, though I didn't ask if they did a vegetarian option) Anyways, if I ever move to Århus I will be a regular!

Possible improvements: Better 🔪, the wood trays are pretty beat up and the pizzas deserve to be sliced without the middle...

Vi kom fire mennesker en torsdag kl. 17, og var så heldige at få et bord. Pizzaerne smagte intet mindre end fantastiske! Dog retfærdiggøres det på ingen måde, hvor beskidt servicen var. Vi kunne ikke finde rent bestik på vores bord, og gik derfor til disken, for at lede i deres bøtte med bestik. Vi var heldige at finde en gaffel og kniv til hver, der var nogenlunde rene. Når man på et sted primært serverer pizzaer, forventes man desuden at kunne få fat i ordentlige savtakkede knive, til at skære dem ud med, når de nu ikke på forhånd er slicede.

Ud over bestikket var glassene på bordet på ingen måder rene heller, og derfor havde vi sat dem til side. Da vi spurgte om man kunne få vand til vores vin, svarede tjeneren, at der kun var dansk vand i køleskabet. Hvilket sted serverer ikke vand? Efter lidt tøven, sagde hun at hun kunne hente noget i vandhanen til os. Det gjorde hun så, i vores beskidte glas. Ud over det kan man ikke just kalde tjeneren serviceminded heller. Hun gik rundt i løbetights, og langede menukortet over disken, uden at vise os hen hvor vi skulle side. Der blev heller ikke hjulpet på vej med drikkevarer, selvom vi ellers så ret tøvende ud, da vi fik fortalt, at vi bare skulle tage for os i køleskabet, trods vi ville have vin.

Altid noget pizzaerne var gode, ellers var jeg gået uden at betale regningen. Næste gang bliver det vidst bare som take-away. Så kan man i det mindste få lov at spise pizza til over hundrede kroner med...
