JUHLs spisehus — Restaurant in Aarhus Municipality

This little place exceeded our expectations with its cosy atmosphere in the intimate surroundings.

For starter, I had the ceviche scallop that was presented beautifully and tasted light and delicious.

For main courses, we had the chicken and today’s fish, which was the white fish ling. Both courses was beautifully served and tasted really great. The ling was served with broccoli and cauliflower with e delicious sauce.

For dessert, my husband had the tiramisu brownie, and he really enjoyed the innovative dessert.

The service was friendly and the atmosphere and sound was quiet even though the restaurant was full.

The price level really offered us value for money.

Magasin is one of two full product range department stores in Aarhus (Salling is the other one), and historically the more "upmarket" one. That said, not only did they closed down their food store a few years ago, they also started changing there long held, proud, very service minded and product knowledgeable staff - replacing them with a lot of temps and student helpers - and changed their strategy replacing own departments with shops-in-shops. Result - today I place about 90% of my department store shopping...

Vi har en gang før været på Juhl’s spisehus i Jægergårdsgade i Århus. 1. Gang var tiptop og nu ville vi prøve lidt mere fra menuen. Vi havde bestilt bord til kl. 15.00 og ankom ca. 10 minutter før. Vi hentede selv menukort ved disken og satte os udenfor som aftalt med personalet. Vi ventede 20 minutter uden at der kom en og modtog hverken spise eller drikke bestilling, jeg gik derfor ind og afgav drikke bestilling. Derefter gik der tæt på 30 minutter før der kom 3 espresso Martini, 1 glas hvidvin og 2 cola zero. Da drikkevarerne ankom spurgte vi hvor længe vi kunne forvente at der ville gå før maden ville komme; svaret var i hvert fald 45 minutter. Da vi havde bordet i 2 timer valgte vi at holde os til drikkevarerne. Hurtig hovedregning siger at vi ville have omkring 30 minutter til at spise, hvad vi forestillede os skulle være både forret og hovedret. Det er simpelthen ikke nok tid til 2 retter. De 2 timer reservationen varede var restaurantens betingelser oplyst ved booking.

Udover det var menukortet på stedet ikke det samme som på hjemmesiden. F.eks steak sandwich. Omaha steak var blevet til oksecuvette, hvilket ikke er det samme stykke kød.

Vi havde glædet os til at smage flere af retterne på menuen, som ravioli, Cæsarsalat, burger, steak sandwich, pommes frites og tatar, men det kunne altså ikke lade sig gøre og dermed kan jeg ikke anmelde maden.
