Hotel Oasia Aarhus — Hotel in Aarhus Municipality

We were a bit surprised to find graffiti on this small hotel. The location near the railroad tracks and the graffiti made us a bit apprehensive about staying here with our kids. We still thought we would give it a try (trying not to judge a book by it's cover.) We asked to see our rooms. We had requested connecting rooms, but were offered rooms side-by-side on the first floor.

While the rooms looked neat, there was a definite stuffy/musty smell in the room. (One of our family members has asthma, so a musty smell can cause health issues.) The musty/stuffiness may have been solved if there was air conditioning....or if we could have opened the windows. However, these rooms were on street level with the windows opening onto the sidewalk, right near the graffiti. We did not feel safe opening these windows, nor having our kids sleeping with theirs open in the room next door.

We explained the issue to the front desk worker, and he said that he understood and that there would be NO ISSUE at all with cancelling our reservation.

Only after we had spent an hour looking for a last minute accommodation for our family of four and driving 30 minutes out of town to find something suitable and available...did we see that Hotel Oasia was still going to charge us for the cancellation. (Although, they felt generous because they only charged us for one room.)

We contacted both Expedia and the Hotel to try to find resolution, but neither would help.

Would not recommend this hotel. It was not...

Amazing hotel! ⭐️

The location of the hotel is perfect. Literally five minutes from the railway station and the city center. All the most interesting things can be found within walking distance.

🛎The staff are very friendly. When we checked in, a staff member told us that the bar was having happy hour and we could get a glass of wine for free. The hotel has an elevator, which is very convenient if you have a suitcase.

🔑The room was perfectly clean and comfortable. I didn't even find dust on the top shelf.

🛏Clean fresh linens. Large super comfortable bed. We slept really well.

🛋The furniture is new and super stylish.

🚿The bathroom is spacious enough. I really liked that in the shower there was shower gel, shampoo and hair conditioner. They are of excellent quality.

The room had a large TV and air conditioning.

🪟The window can be opened to ventilate the room.

Excellent soundproofing in the room.

🥐The breakfast that is included in the price was just incredible. Huge selection of food, juices, coffee, several types of desserts, fruits and so on. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented.

Very good location within walking distance of the city center. Inviting and cozy lounge area on the first floor with free hot drinks. Fitness room available. However, some coffee cups not thoroughly washed. Breakfast offer was good. Between 8am and 8:30am the breakfast room was hopelessly overcrowded. Very well made and very hygienic, almost all dishes are portioned in preserving jars, which is also more environmentally friendly. Own parking spaces in the courtyard and in the nearby parking garage. In the parking garage you get a discounted price for one night, which here means 32 hours, but unfortunately the reception staff did not know this. Therefore unnecessary paid several hours for parking on the street. Our standard double room was extremely tiny, especially in the bathroom you could hardly turn around. Shower cubicle very narrow, when sitting on the loo the sink hung in your face. The room was also worn and unclean. After complaining, we were given a new room for the following night and chocolates as an apology. The new room was more spacious, but the mattresses were worn out and the neighbors made a lot of noise because the walls are so...
