Café Garibaldi — Restaurant in Herning Municipality

Hit or miss depending on who's working at the time. First time we visited we were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the experience. Ordered a burger and stjerneskud, both pretty good. Arrived quickly (~15 min) and nice staff. Based on this, we brought some friends there, but the experience was much different.

After waiting 45 minutes after ordering (sorry, "definitely only 30 minutes, I checked the receipt") and seeing the table behind us receive their food, finish it and leave, as well as the other table arriving after us, and getting their food before us, we decided to ask. We had ordered nachos, soup and a burger. An employee was quick to say they're working on it, and later approached the table to scold us. We were told "it's definitely only been half an hour, I checked (repeated 3 times), and you ordered a burger, so that takes a long time". We were not angry at the wait, we simply wanted to know what the situation was.

The food arrived around 15 minutes later, and it was fine. Average cafe food, same as any of the dining places down the pedestrian street. Considering the mixed bag of service, there are other restaurants in Herning with more consistent experiences that would be a better choice.

I visited Garibaldi a few times during my stay in Herning and always enjoyed the cozy atmosphere, old-style slow music, and their delicious homemade ice cream brownies. Unfortunately, my last visit was a real disappointment due to the poor attitude of one of the waiters.

I was quietly sitting with my laptop at a small two-person table (which was free when I arrived), and after more than an hour, the waiter came over and rather abruptly told me that the table was “booked.” This was quite surprising, as the lounge was almost empty at the time. His tone and manner were disrespectful, and he offered no proper explanation.

Even though I was only having a hot drink, I was still a customer and expected to be treated with basic courtesy, something I’ve never seen lacking in any other place I’ve visited around the world.

On previous visits, two lovely young ladies served me and truly understood the meaning of hospitality. It’s a shame that my last visit before leaving the country was ruined by one staff member’s unprofessional attitude.

Overall, Garibaldi is a nice place with a good vibe and great desserts, but the level of customer service is inconsistent and definitely needs...

Hire more waitress/waiters. there was just one in a day like today. we were a group of 12 (families). she did let us sit in the terrace, she told us she was alone. there were more people coming and she attend at them. we told her that we could go inside for our drinks, she still say no. they were groups there without a problem.
