This restaurant is located inside the Alsik hotel. It is a large restaurant but still sometimes is full as not only hotel guests dine here but also locals from Sønderborg and surrounding communities. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and has modern, yet cozy atmosphere. The staff is excellent. As soon as you enter the restaurant you feel welcome and the staff go out of their way to make you comfortable. Each dish is explained by the waiting staff. It’s a very professional experience. The menu features four appetizers and four main dishes. In addition, you can choose a three course menu. The menu changes from time to time. There are sufficient beers and wines to choose from. The food is excellently prepared and presented, and the dishes we tried (3/4 main courses) all were fantastic. We enjoyed our visit to Restaurant Alsik and will come back again.

Read moreMy girlfriend and I had a 3 course dinner at the restaurant as a part of our stay at Alsik Hotel & SPA.
Food: We both agreed after the meal that the price and quality did not match.
It most of all felt like eating at one of “Madklubben’s” restaurants (not ment in a negative way), but with half the portion size and double the prize. The food however tasted good and was well balanced, but did not at all justify the price.
Service: The waiters did not know what was on the plates and was unsure about the wines they were serving, both things something I would expect at this price point (595kr/3 courses). The overall service however was pleasant and down to earth.
I will probably not visit the restaurant again nor recommend it to friends and family. I will however definitely be recommending the hotel, it was very good experience

Read moreDefinitely worth visiting. Tasting menu is well-proportioned, with cold pressed pea soup with fish roe and shrimps sets the bar very high, veal and asparagus (or cod) make a perfect entree (loved those crispy potaoes formed into a basket) followed by fruity panacotta with rhubarb - what elase could you ask for? Funny thing is the ad libitum offer of wine, beer and soft drinks. You need to go with the glass to the back and pour yourself - cannot just bring bottle to table. Must admit this is a devious idea, especially with toilet in the cellar, nevertheless...
