Tourist who are in the Punta Cana area be careful about going to this place called Drink Point where the employees work together with local authorities to steal money from those who go to this place to have fun. I had a horrible experience where I ended up in the local jail. A person who was friend with the bartender invited me and my sister to drink at that place he order 2 bottles that we thought he pay at the moment because you don’t go no where and order bottle without pay for it. The bartender approached him like two hours later with the bill and he brought the bill to my sister and myself when we told him that we didn’t order the bottles, he said I’m coming back. I’m going to talk to him and he just left us there with the bill when we try to explain to the bartender that we didn’t order the bottles he said that we actually did that we ordered it and that was a huge lie. We never go to the boy, and we never saw his face on to the moment he came with the bill, we told them that we wasn’t gonna pay for what his friend order. This guy is clearly with local authorities he called them when we told them to look into the cameras they didn’t wanna listen to us and they just throw us in jail like animals .they hold us there for almost 2 days in a place that was absolutely disgusting and the people were nasty. They were other people from New Jersey and Ireland who when there for the same reason $$$$ they did the same thing to them and they were there for two days prior. My sister and I waited for mthe moment to see the district attorney to explain the situation but obvios he didn’t want to listen to us. They said that the bartender was in the right and they make us paid 14,500 in Dominican money, which is an amount of almost $300. This people do this constantly most of the people stay quiet because of the fear that this people put you through intimidating you with put you in another jail while they can fine the videos that should be there at the location. Officers zepeda, Ledesma and the Bart tender santos montero montero are a few of the people responsible for this abuse and this is the picture of the sanki Panki who order...
Read moreWhy I liked it:
If you like dembow, reggaeton this is the place for you to come. Seems like there were locals here too. I love this music and the vibes were great. Staff were nice as well. The beginning of the night they were playing lots of hip hop, shek Wes etc. As the night progressed it turned into Bachata music.
Walked in and without asking the staff pulled a table and chairs from the back so we could sit. Staff brought us drinks immediately
Security was really nice and waited until our ride came to pick us up.
If you don't like lots of flashing lights this may be more suitable for you.
Things to consider:
Some of the pictures made it seem like this is on the beach. It is not at all.
The women's bathroom is nasty. Went into a stall with no toilet seat. No soap to wash hands. Nothing to dry your hands. One of the sinks had garbage in it. -dont expect much from a nightclub bathroom but I would expect a toilet seat lol!
If you don't listen to dembow, reggaeton this may not be the place for you. I loved the music because I listen to that style of music, but my friend was not vibing.
Female Tourists- servers/staff do not look like they work there! They do not have a uniform per se so we were a little uncertain who had brought us drinks. Staff? Or patrons?
My friend doesn't like smoke and there was hookah, vaping etc...
Read moreAfter trying El Kan the first night and then our excursion tour guide recommending Drink Point the next day, we came here the second night. Our taxi driver actually encouraged us to go somewhere else instead but we were already set on trying Drink Point. We only stayed for about 20-30 minutes because it just wasn't the right vibe for us. Our group enjoys bachata/merengue/salsa music to dance to and while we do listen to reggaeton and latin trap, this place just wasn't our scene.
The other people there (mostly locals with a few tourists) seemed pretty feisty and there was a LOT of security, which is nice, but it begs the question as to why they require so much more security than the other local bars? Our question was quickly answered when guys drove past a few times on mopeds carrying shotguns and the local police arrived, sirens blazing.
Beer prices and bottle service seemed reasonable and it is probably the closest local bar to the resorts but it just wasn't for us. We ended up going back to El Kan and had a great time enjoying the atmosphere of good music with...
