GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!!! Words cannot describe how incredible this experience was for me and my friends. We visited Punta Cana for my birthday and I knew I wanted to visit Herman 311 as the “grand finale” after reading all of the reviews on Trip Advisor and Google. I mean, “best lobster in Punta Cana,” how can you pass that up? I contacted the restaurant through WhatsApp the day before to make a reservation and it was seamless! Jhonny locked me in and said they’ll be expecting us. On the day of (my birthday), I sent a text to Jhonny in the morning to confirm our reservation and ask what the best mode of transportation was to get there. He said they’ll send a taxi and quoted me a price for both ways (SUPER REASONABLE). When I say Herman 311 was on it even before we sat down to eat, I mean ON IT. Excellent service!!! Jhonny deserves 10 stars. He arrived personally, on time, and took us to the restaurant about 15 minutes away. And then…
The food. Superb. It was hands down the BEST food we had all week (and our resort had great food)!!!. From the garlic bread (with house made dressing on the side) to the calamari to the garlic lobster with roasted vegetables, everything was FANTASTIC. My friends and I are still raving about the lobster 3 days later. We have flashbacks every now and then lol. Luis was our server and he was phenomenal. Very attentive and patient with us (even as the drinks started flowing). The drinks were great as well. Everyone at the restaurant was A1.
Not only all of the above, but when I arrived, they had our table set up with birthday decor (see pics below). I had mentioned I was celebrating my birthday in passing when I made the reservation but I was not expecting any of this sort of detail. Additionally, after we all had eaten, they brought out the MOST DELICIOUS birthday cake. We were so stuffed from our entrees that we weren’t able to make a dent in it but we ate what we could haha. In all seriousness, I was truly touched. Jhonny, Luis, and everyone else went above and beyond to make my day special. The food, the service, literally everything was amazing from start to finish!!!!
PS. We went to Drink Point for a little turn up after dinner (about a 5 minute walk) but Jhonny made sure we arrived there and ALSO got back to the resort safely. These are good people. Go support them and enjoy delicious food at the same time! I would give them over 5...
Read moreI have traveled to many places and dined at a number of restaurants in my life, but Herman 311 has absolutely exceeded my expectations! Let me start by saying yes…this restaurant is more expensive than the others we went to, but I had no issue with the price after the dinner we had experienced! There are so many elements that go into a fantastic dining experience, but the top ones are location, atmosphere, service, and food. Herman 311, had all of these elements! The location was across the street from a casino which was a perfect end to our evening. Our waiter, Raphael, was incredible! If I could have him as my waiter for every dining experience, I would! First, he selected a table for us under the stars. A DJ was playing a mix of music that fit the mood perfectly! Our waiter,Raphael, spoke to us and asked questions about our preferences, to provide better suggestions from the menu. He brought us into the wine store and we picked out the perfect wine for our meal. We decided to order lambi which was AMAZING! Considering someone in our party had never had it before, they sure ate more than a taste! Then we had the garlic lobster! It was grilled to perfection and the garlic sauce was so good, you could bathe in it! Although I was completely stuffed, Raphael convinced me to have a brownie with ice cream….pure heaven! This experience was so good, we went back again 2 days later! If you are in Punta Cana, make your way to Herman 311 and ask for my friend Raphael. You absolutely will not be disappointed! PS - we rode in a Poppi to get there and back to the hotel. It was a...
Read moreThis place was just awful!!! Service was terrible and the food and prices were ridiculous. Ordered a basic Crepe for dessert with one topping that was close to $12 USD. Thought we could share it but this was literally a one-bite crepe. I rarely leave restaurant reviews but had to here because what they brought out was truly embarrassing. They couldn't even bother to serve one full crepe! This is why the place was almost empty despite a shortage of other restaurants nearby....nobody who comes here once will return because the quantity snd quality are just silly. They clearly don't know how to create an environment where people desire to come back - seems they would rather rip off each tourist once as opposed to creating a nice, friendly environment with reasonably priced food and drinks that people would want to return to. My best advice would be get out of this area and go to El Corticito for dinner where you feel less trapped, induced or desperate to end up...
