Kaboclo Wine & Steak House — Restaurant in Higüey

Excited by all the positive reviews but unfortunately was a 1 star experience for me. The service was incredibly slow, it took about 45 mins for our appetizers to come out and the garlic mussels were dry and over cooked to the point that I had to send them back. The classic ceviche was tasty and flavorful for sure. We then waited for our entrees, at the 1.5 hour mark we were fed up and asked to pay for the check. They said please stay the food will be out in just a few minutes. Wait an additional 10 and food is nowhere to be found. We paid for what we consumed and left. Notably a party of four who was seated after us left mid dining because they also never received anything in a timely manner. They also served us a disgusting amuse bouche consisting of blue cheese and marinated fruit. What a joke, would...

I need to start by saying, Voja is the best server that I've ever had in any country or restaurant I've ever been to. We weren't sure what to order and he guided us to EXACTLY what was perfect for us. Then when the amazing food came out, he noticed I was in a white dress so he offered to cut out my lobster for me so that I wouldn't get my dress messy. I have had decent service at other restaurants but I have NEVER had service like I had with Voja tonight. And Richy was also soooo helpful when we first arrived and asked what kind of music we wanted to hear. 10 out of 10, you NEED TO EAT HERE not only for the food but for the out of this world...

If you want a place for a small group or romantic dinner for 2 , this would be a place to go , small restaurant and wine bar. Not the easiest to find , staff is friendly, food was good , I just found the portions small. The menu online does not show proces so be prepared when you are the coat. We were 4 people 3 adults and one child and we all had main course , 2 people had starters and desert , 2 pops, 1 mango juice and one glass of wine and the dinner was $282 Canadian not including tip.
