Il Tartufo Restaurant — Restaurant in Higüey

My family and I came here for dinner and were all immensely disappointed. The dinner started off well with a very nice server pouring our wine, but it only went downhill from there. Unfortunately after that, we got another server, who was incredibly rude and unhappy. Our starters came and we were pleasantly surprised considering the fairly low quality of food at this resort. The starters were honestly all great. Everyone at the table had ordered a pasta dish and a meat dish. After the starters, everything went downhill. The server didn't take our order correctly: She forget dishes and served us our meat incorrectly cooked and at different times. When she served me she told me the meat was medium, which i definitely didn't order. She gave us attitude, took it away and instantly came back with the exact same plate, my meat was definitely overcooked but at least the sauce was good. The final person at our table didn't receive their meat dish until the rest of the table was basically done. Then we received our pasta dishes, which could not have been a bigger let down. The carbonara had cream in it and tasted like cardboard with maybe 5 tiny pieces of bacon. The limoncello ALSO had cream in it, which is arguably a bigger offence than the carbonara. Nowhere on the menu does it say there is cream in the limoncello, and I'm fairly confident they use the same sauce base in the limoncello as the carbonara. The tartufo was mediocre at best and tasted like cheap chocolate. As always, the ice cream at this resort is also extremely artificial. Overall, one of the more disappointing places at this resort. Service seems to be the biggest running problem here. Furthermore, if you have any dietary restrictions, I strongly urge you to be careful because I've been served food I very obviously and specifically communicated that I could not eat, and was always met with anger when sending a dish back...

Italian restaurant In this resort. Firstly the atmosphere aesthetically is stunning and beautiful. Service is good how ever the food was very disappointing. The Caesar salad had little too much dressing. The dip creamy spinach was nice whilst hot but wasn’t so pleasant when it cooled down. The mozzarella was very chewy maybe because it was fried. The worst place in all the resort, we got food on the table and it looked like the food was old,cooked in advance and just servet on the plate. Sorry guys this was terrible experience, first we waited so long for the seat even though we had reservations, then we eat the starters but with the main dish, we stud up and leave the restaurant, went to eat in the buffee in the self service where the food is at...
