My husband and I had never been to this restaurant we had an amazing experience. My husband is quite picky with food, ambience and air conditioning for him is a must. We've been to several restaurants in Santiago, and Saga has thus far, been our favorite. Our server, Yorky, made excellent recommendations and the female singer with a live band gave a wonderful performance. She could actually sing ! The only reason why I gave it 4 stars is there is a dress code that apparently only applies to Dominicans not out-of-towners. So, when we arrived we were not properly dressed, so they allowed us to dine in their interior dinning hall. However, there was live music in the patio and my husband wanted to at least check it out. Out first server was nice enough to talk to the manager and explain we we "extranjeros" so they allowed us in thier patio area. Which I personally think the dress code should apply more to the interior hall which looks much more fancy. The patio is lovely. The smell of cigars lightly sprinkles the air if you go on a Wednesday or Friday they have a live band. We are definitely going back, properly dressed this time and I'm looking...

The food is stellar. Specifically, the mushroom soup is creamy and flavorful but not heavy. The goat is delicious. No bones were to be found. The meat was tender. The goat is a special. It is not always on the menu. It is prepared by the owner of the restaurant. The owner checked in with us throughout the evening. He wanted to know about the service and the food. My group was enthusiastic about their meals. The service was the best that I have experienced in the city of Santiago. The servers all had crisp customized uniforms. They were helpful with orders in English. For example, we ordered appetizers for the table. They were delicious and gone in a flash. In less than ten seconds the empty plates were cleared. Also of note is the walk in humidor with an impressive cigar collection available for purchase. The ambiance is a level above what I have come to expect from the best restaurants in the city. The dining spaces are comfortable and elegant. I look forward to...

Very disappointed with the poor service and racist/colorist treatment at this establishment. Came in as a walk-in in the evening and was told there was no availability due to my lack of reservation - completely understandable. As I wait in the entrance for my car service, a couple walks in without reservation and the host states that she can try to accommodate them. This couple was of lighter skin, and it is worth noting that the female did not adhere to the dress code as she wore flip flops. I went in with my mother and followed the dress code. The treatment was clear and I cannot think of any other explanation as to why a couple was seated as a walk-in and I was not. It is worth noting that I have visited this establishment two years ago, around lunch hours and was welcomed without a reservation and food was great. However, the change in staff is...

This restaurant is reputed to be one of the best in town, and it certainly lived up to the hype. The food was excellent, and I had the pleasure of trying my first traditional Dominican dish, "Sancocho," which was absolutely delicious. We ended the evening with some "Saga" cigars to round off the experience. However, I must note that the service was somewhat slow and inattentive, which was unexpected for a restaurant of this caliber. While the house cigars were good, they didn’t quite stand out enough for me to consider purchasing them again. Overall, a great dining experience with some room for improvement in service quality.

Heard a lot of hype about this place and honestly don’t know at all what’s the big deal that others see! Made reservations for a party of 4 and get there to be seated in their smallest table possible. If we were only having coffee I would have understood but seriously what’s the point of making a reservation. The service was beyond horrendous. Or maybe we were just unlucky with the waiter. The food was ooookkk, nothing at all memorable. The alcohol drinks tasted like juice and honestly I should have just ordered another appetizer instead of a cocktail.
