Don't want to leave a lower rating than 3 because the ambiance and the design is pretty decent here and the staff are all polite enough but I find the items to be way overpriced and honestly of poor quality. NYC prices and design but that doesn't doesn't if the food and the coffee aren't good.
The Dominican Breakfast I had here was literally the worst I've had anywhere and I think it is due to an attempt on their part to "elevate" classic dishes to the point where the rustic simplicity and the accompanying depth of flavor and timelessness of the dish is lost.
I've noticed that the crowd here is pretty upscale - plenty of foreigners and locals, folks in suits, I even saw a 12 person office meeting here once where everyone was pretty decked out. It seems like a popular place for the affluent and perhaps that is why the prices are so elevated?
At the end of the day though the quality just isn't there, at least not with the meal choices I made and the prices simply aren't justified. I've tried this place 3 times and just can't bring myself to return when there are other places that are hole-in-the-wall joints where service has been exceptional, coffee was on point and the food options were simple...

The gluten-free menu is a HUGE plus. Their Golden Latte with almond milk (picture below) was deliciously rich, although it lacked kick. Prices are comparable to other comparable restaurants in the area (like Helado Dude and Super Fresh, who are right next door). WiFi worked great, though noise level can be a bit high if you're trying to do quiet work. Great environment and unique style, completely handicapped accessible (except the bathrooms), and plenty of outlets. I'll definitely keep coming back, and plan on bringing my...
Read moreLove this place! I seriously love this Casa Barista for so many reasons! First it’s located in the heart of Zona Colonial, just up the street from the main park and the ocean. Second it’s cozy, safe and just perfect for just about any occasion. I like to go there for just an afternoon tea and desert, but it has great breakfast and lunch. The service is amazing! I’ve never had a reason to complain about the staff, they are all very respectful and prompt. Last the location; My oh my It’s a sight! I love the architecture, but what I love the most is the design! It’s so different and industrially beautiful.
Go! I promise...
