Monte Cristo — Restaurant in Santo Domingo

Warning for food poisoning!!! We had dinner there last Friday and ordered one dish with shrimps and one with fish. The service was slow and unattentive. The fish was ok but the shrimp dish was burnt and tasted like ash tray. No one asked how the food was and when they got the plates they did not ask why we had not eaten anything. I tried to tell the male waiter but he walked away while I was talking. Then they stood at the table when we paid and asked for more tip (we gave 15 %) which made us very uncomfortable. Excellent restaurant, with great service. I found it in google map since it recommended me restaurants near the hotel I was staying at the moment (embassies suits by Hilton ) , it’s just across the street from the hotel.

The cocktail was delicious. I ordered for appetizer the goat croquet and for main course seafood risotto. I was a little afraid at the beginning to try since the risotto is black but omg after the first taste I just couldn’t stop eating. The waiter was so sweet and helpful .

I made a reservation for an event, requested a specific table (which I paid for), was told it was reserved/unavailable only to find out that they lied and no one had actually booked it; the table remained empty all night long.
