La Gloria Rooftop — Restaurant in Santo Domingo

As far as vibe goes, 10/10 for ambiance, lights music and aesthetics. The dj was incredible the night that i went and i had so much fun dancing by the little stage setup they have. However, it’s definitely lacking in the diversity department, i was that darkest person there that night and i mean look at my profile pic..the drinks were a bit pricey and weren’t strong enough so just stick to shots or beer and yeah i feel like if you’re gonna do the elitist vibe thing you can make it more inclusive otherwise you’re doing yourself a disservice. I’d return though…with all my poc friends :) oh and the owner was a sweetheart so s/o to him i hope he takes some of these reviews into...

I had a month waiting to go check the bar for Halloween event, 2 days previews I write to the ig for information regarding the entrance if there were any cover fee....nothing, never answered, I called, no pick up. Fortunately my friend called and got a hold of someone, answered the were no fees but forgot to mention a reservation has to be made. So us two, along with other groups that had the same luck, went down there to get stopped at the entrance by their gorillas security with lack of empathy. I have never been so irritated. This site and ppl lack of professionalism. Really bad...

Waooooo, es increíble como aún existen lugares que niegan la entrada al público para generar en otros un aire de prestigio y de un “no todo el mundo puede entrar”. En una misma semana y para ser más específicos el martes 11 de diciembre transitaba por las calles con mi novio a lo que, me fijé en la parte de arriba del edificio y dije (ufff ese lugar parecer ser nice) eventualmente, nos dirigimos al lugar y el seguridad nos comentó que solo abren de jueves a domingo en hora nocturna y que ese día había una fiesta privada, nos invitó a que pasáramos el sábado 15.

Muy emocionados con la idea nos acordamos de ir a la famosa “La Gloria”, cuando llegamos, nos encontramos con el seguridad que nos atendió, más dos perros “mala cata” que no parecen gente, no saben de servicio al cliente y mucho menos se ubican de que están en RD. Nos pararon en seco y luego le dijeron a mi novio que se tenía que reservar con una botella, nos dejaron esperando afuera y literalmente delante de nuestras narices veíamos como dejaban entrar a otras personas “Sangre Azul” que no decían ni “JI”.

Al final mi novio se enojó y me dijo que era muy posible que no nos dejarían entrar por mi color de piel, es decir soy morena. Adicional a esto, no me sentí mal, pues tanto mi novio como yo podemos darnos el lujo de gastar lo que nos plazca y solo es cuestión de sumar y restar; y para esta oportunidad, tienen dos clientes menos.

Malos tratos, racismo, elitismo, falta de humanidad y por mi parte de credibilidad. Hay muchas personas que trabajamos duro, estudiamos, nos sacrificamos y salimos a pasarla bien para gastar en algo que valga el gasto y el consumo y nos encontramos con lugares como este que solo alejan a los potenciales clientes a la competencia. Si esa era la meta, lo están...
