I am a big fan of Sushi and I am very selective when deciding to eat Sushi due to several reasons from previous experiences,
I am also very curious with Sushi freshness as it is key to good taste,
Santuko is my favourite restaurant in new Cairo that offer very good quality reasonably priced,
I ordered 40 pieces a mix of fried and raw:
8 Philedelphia 8 Californa caviar 8 Santuko plus 4 pyramid roll 6 Hot power 6 Hot Lemon
I liked all but last time the hot Lemon pieces was bigger than expected which affected the taste and experience,
I paid less than 1300 LE.
What I do like in the fact that Santuko is a restaurant of a Hotel inside Helnan so the service is 5 stars and I am sure food measurements and hygiene is high, the only draw if the restaurant is busy it takes time to serve.
There is also an amazing teppenyaki with a show that I tried twice and enjoyed it and there is international dishes if you are not a fan of Japanese or Sushi.

Read moreToday was such a disappointment for me. It was our anniversary and we decided to visit Santoku sushi (went several times and loved their sushi). We called a day before and they said we needed to pay a deposit if we want to order the 'sushi cake' as it would take an hour and a half to be prepared so they can serve it as soon as we arrive.
40 minutes after our arrival, we were surprised to receive a normal plate with our order, claiming that the 'cake' has to be done for more than 100 pieces which is completely a lie based on the photos they have on their facebook page(cake can start from any pieces). They also mistakenly put 'Happy birthday' on the cake instead of anniversary which was embarassing.
Next comes the dessert cake we ordered, worst thing we have ever seen honestly. They gave us the cake even without plates and forks, probably we were supposed to eat it with our hands.
Definitely not recommended on...
Read moreThe vibes are excellent, architecturally very nice, the restaurant has a separate entrance from the hotel just next to TOTAL fuel which is nice because the restaurant is much nicer than the hotel. The entire food menu, Teppanyaki, soups, salads and entrees are superb 9/10. Sushi is below average 5/10. Felt like home-made amateurish sushi, so Please get a more experienced Sushi Chef along with the existing chef. Overall, prices are extraordinarily low which is really nice. The place has soft beverages only which is a big drawback for those who prefer to have a small glass of wine with their meal , but interestingly you can bring your own bottle and they will serve it. This is a big drawback because if you are branding yourself as a chique restaurant,...
