Spago — Restaurant in Giza

One of my favorite restaurants in town. Tried many dishes here over the years at different times, and the quality never changed. Both the taste and the size of the dishes are exquisite.

The vibes are really beautiful in this place, with dim-to-warm lighting and relaxing lounge music.

The best dishes I've tried for main course were Spago Burger; 500 gm of pure meat (in the photos), Chicken Cannelloni, and Country Chicken Club Sandwich.

For salads, Chicken Caesar Salad is really good and filling, it can be a meal on its own.

For appetizers, Chicken Strips and Chicken Quesadillas are very delicious.

The jewel of the crown of this restaurant is on the dessert menu; the stunning Chocolate Lava (in the photos). A portion of happiness served on a plate. It's a chocolate cake filled with liquid hot chocolate that oozes out of the cake once it's sliced, topped with chocolate-caramel sauce, and served with vanilla ice-cream for contrast in all possible aspects: in taste, temperature and aesthetically.

The prices are high compared to other restaurants serving similar plates, but for the quality of the food, size of the dishes, and the lovely vibes, it's definitely worth...

First review was one star, then it became 4 starts. I tried this place once in Ramadan and Staff was nervous, music was too loud even when we asked them to put the volume down, they don't have a plan for the playlist, it was like if they were searching the radio channels. Chicken Monterey dish was just fried chicken breasts without any cheese or sauce, and didn't taste good. I ordered soup, and didn't get it then I found it on the check, when I told them they reconsider the total amount. It wasn't a good experience at all.

Then a friend convinced me to try it again because he knew that place from years ago & it's one of his best, so I gave it a second chance and it was good. Staff behavior was much better than the Ramadan time. I had Chicken mushrooms pasta it was good, and Ceaser...

Went to have a birthday lunch celebration for someone, told the waiters I need desert with some instructions before we sat and right after they served lunch and we were about to eat the lights went out, we thought it was the outage which would have been fine so we waited, are in the dark (they didn't put candles or anything everyone used their phone) and when it came back they gave us checks because they are installing a generators during rush our?! The food was good to be fair, but the service was not. They should have said before we sat as it's a choice to install it during rush hours and better yet they should have done so before or after their working hours. We left without the celebration and had to go somewhere else. Not a good experience for how much was spent...
