El Lido — Restaurant in Giza

Update 18/6/2018: I was contacted by the owner and he told me that the quality of their food and the satisfaction of their customers is their top concern. I was invited for a complementary meal as a compensation and was reminded of the old Lido flavor I love.

16/6/2018: I’m a big fan and a regular of El Lido, but what has happened to the place is shocking ! . The burger’s size is now 2 bites only and it’s more expensive. The burger was also burnt, and the fries were very crispy to the extent that it was hurting to eat it. Truly shocked to what has happened and if the place stays like that, I’ll rethink eating at El Lido again. I wish this finds it’s place to the owners/managers to rethink their strategy. Great food. Very friendly staff. Anyone who knows Gezira Sporting Club will identify the menu of the outlet on the main swimming pool. Ellido have the same quality and the home made potato chips are marvelous. 1 EGP 3asaleya (honey sweets) is a perfect treat after you eat 3 sandwiches. Size of sandwiches is a bit small but this was the actual size we had 30 years ago. Well done...

The burger was very small, but I guess that"s part of the theme (simple old school burgers). I had to order a double and was still hungry afterwards. I know they are copying the old Lido menu, but it would be better if they offered something else than just small burgers and chips. It's hardly enough food if you want a real meal.
