I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bombay Indian Restaurant in Soho Square, Sharm El Sheikh, and I must say it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the charming ambiance and warm hospitality of the staff.
The staff at Bombay Indian Restaurant were truly amazing. They greeted me with genuine smiles and made me feel welcomed throughout my visit. Their attentiveness and excellent service were commendable. They were knowledgeable about the menu and provided helpful recommendations, ensuring that my dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary.
Now, let's talk about the food. Oh my, it was simply to die for! The flavors and aromas transported me back to the grandeur of the Raj period in India. Each dish was prepared with utmost care and expertise, showcasing the authentic flavors of Indian cuisine. The menu offered a wide variety of options, catering to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian preferences.
I started my meal with some delicious samosas and crispy papadums accompanied by a selection of chutneys. The samosas were perfectly crisp and bursting with flavorful fillings. For the main course, I opted for the classic butter chicken and aromatic biryani. The butter chicken had a rich and creamy tomato-based gravy that was simply divine. The tender pieces of chicken were cooked to perfection, leaving me craving for more. The biryani was fragrant and packed with layers of spices and tender meat, creating a symphony of flavors in every bite.
To complement my meal, I indulged in some traditional Indian beverages such as mango lassi and masala chai. The lassi was refreshingly sweet and creamy, while the chai had the perfect balance of spices, providing a comforting end to my meal.
The ambiance of Bombay Indian Restaurant added to the overall experience. The decor showcased elements of Indian culture, and the soft lighting and soothing music created a relaxed and cozy atmosphere. It truly felt like I was transported to the streets of India.

I don’t even know where to start, to start off when you order food you’d expect starters to come first and then the mains. In our situation, the starters didn’t turn up and our mains came (1 hr wait). While waiting for the food to arrive, staff were running around frantically contributing to a uncomfortable atmosphere, we could see there were two staffs arguing -it wasn’t relaxing, and it felt very rushed. The surrounding tables we could hear small conversations where similar customers were having issues with their food. We ordered butter naan on the side and the waitress unwrapped the cling film around the plate it was served in front of us- we initially found this very strange as I’d expect food to come as soon as it is cooked, is the food fresh I’m not sure? But we ignored this red flag.. bare this in mind it took probably 1+ hour for our mains to come and we were starving it would’ve been nice if waiters told us there is a delay in the food especially when you’re paying premium prices around. If you walk a couple minutes away- there are better food spots at a cheaper price. Anyway the mains had come and it was served luke warm, we didn’t decide to complain on the spot as we were really hungry. When we did inform the staff the starters were missing, we could tell a few of them were in panic mode and they informed their male manager. Once we finished our mains, a couple minutes later the male manager came to us and said something along the lines of we should cancel our starters as we have finished our mains, something along the lines of the kitchen wasn’t making our starters so we accepted this decision. They then offered to give us complimentary dessert. Upon receiving the receipt they forgot to add one of the mains we had eaten, and then 10’minutes later they came and said sorry they need to update the bill, it felt like ages just to get and pay for the bill. The female manager who came to speak to us at the end with the bill was helpful enough but our experience was already dampen unfortunately. The bathroom was clean which is one of the positives. Overall experience not great at all....
Read moreThe restaurant offers a pleasant atmosphere with friendly and fast service. Clean environment and well mannered staff added to the positive first impression. However, the food didn’t quite meet expectations.
An Indian Must offer papadum , the red sauce had a nice kick. The mint sauce, however, lacked flavor and came with no explanation about the ingredients something I’d expect from a place of this caliber.
Unfortunately, the main dishes were disappointing. The Chicken Korma lacked the creamy texture and authentic spices you’d expect, and the chicken was overcooked and big cutet and Dry , poorly presented. The Chicken Curry was slightly better but still lacked depth and authenticity, tasting more like a simplified, European version.
Overall, not a bad place for a casual meal, but if you’re looking for real Indian flavors and quality, you might want to look elsewhere. My wohl review...
