Just had lunch here after reading the reviews. This place is situated near my hotel. I would highly recommend this place.
The service was great, all the staff was super attentive and helpful with menu choices and ensuring my meal was great.
The food was amazing! I knew the food was going to be great by the comp plantain chips and the sauces they provide. I thought to myself that if these sauces, taste this good, the food must be even better. Their causa de lomo saltado rivals any I have had back home. The potato was moist yet sturdy, the lomo had a great smokiness to it and was nice and soft. I also ordered the risotto with pulpo a la parrilla. I will comment that what you serve, is not risotto, as the grains were different, the consistency was off and it was very cheesy. However, it was still very tasty I was just anticipating something specific. The pulpo on this dish however, made it worth it. We also had the ceviche which was very delicious as well.
All in all, I will be back again before I leave to enjoy more of the menu. A must visit place if in San Benito or near el tope del El Escalon.
Great job!!!...
Read moreAverage at best. I’ve lived in Peru and I’ve tried Peruvian food across the globe. First the waiter was new so took our order all out of sync and didn’t asked the temperature of the meat - not his fault entirely, possibly bad training. ENTREE - Anticucho was dry, hard and cold. This dish is generally juicy, soft, and served hot off the grill. Ceviche was good, it was the best thing out of all the dishes. MAIN - Lomo Saltado came out cold. The fried potatoes, cold, and the meat, cold and hard. Not sure if it was prepared in advance. One person in the group, a Peruivan, in particular said it was unacceptable and asked for the dish to be removed. The restaurant refused to refund the dish so we asked for it to be remade but to go - for my dog to eat... It’s only speculation but maybe they are struggling financially?? Anyhow, 5 stars is reserved for the best of the best so 2 stars here. Not a great customer experience, $200 including tips (mandatory), and...
Read moreFound ourselves coming back to A lo Peruano for the amazing meals and fresh seafood they serve. Their Peruvian cuisine is authentic and the preparation is not only beautiful, yet plentiful and flavorful. Visited as a couple and with a large group on another occasion and we're pleased with the experience on both accounts. They were even polite enough to make slight mods to the menu to accommodate the exact items we wanted. That said, you can't go wrong won't the ceviche, fried seafoods, and any combos that allows trying a few things at once. On the pricier end for San Salvador but effective for a nice evening out. Very lively depending on the night you visit and indoor and outdoor...
