Kolm Tilli — Restaurant in Tartu linn

UPDATE: Visited three more times. I've finally given up on this place. Is the food good? Sometimes. One visit the food was genuinely bad, then it was fantastic, then it was only ok. No consistency at all. Two visits I had a great time trying to cocktails! They were very well made and had nice spins on some classics. The pizza was excellent one visit and only ok the next. The bao were so-so when I got them, so didn't bother getting them again.

The biggest problems here seems to be consistency and the service. The last visit we waited at 10 minutes for a waiter (I started timing it after this), another 15 until the waiter came back to take our order, 25 minutes for our drinks, 35+ minutes for our food (we could see the food sitting there waiting to be picked up so was barely warm when we received it), we desperately ordered another drink, then another 30 minutes waiting for the two drinks. I waved down the waitress several times and was ignored. I asked another waiter to grab our waiter and never saw her. This was at 16:30! It was not busy at all.

I was really looking forward to trying a few different cocktails since we were celebrating and I couldn't even order them since the waitress didn't visit us. We wanted to order some extra starters, but didn't because the waitress didn't come by. To the manager: you are straight up losing money by not properly training your wait staff!

The place is obviously popular and I"m sure will stay open, so maybe in a couple more years I'll give it another shot. Not going to bother for quite a while though.

OLD REVIEW: Decided to finally give the pizza a try here as I noticed they had a wood fired pizza oven. We ordered the Margherita. It's definitely the Napoli style of pizza. It was...I would say fine. Definitely nothing special. The crust was nice, but a touch too thick/chewy in the center. I thought I would like that more because it should have held the toppings, but no such luck. The sauce was a bit bland and disappointing. I was really hoping for a flavorful sauce, but just tasted like crushed tomatoes. Cheese was fine if a bit wet.

Overall, it was all fine. I love that it's 5 euro and I love that they're trying. They definitely have some kinks to work out in the recipe and I'll come back and try again soon.

Two stray observations, the fish and chips looked amazing. And the menu was all over the place. Bao, ramen, fish and chips, and pizza all on the same menu? Very...

I liked the wide selection of their menu and thought it would be fun to take my family there. We went for lunch, but they only offered limited daily specials, which is disappointing, but totally fine for us. However, we waited for more than half an hour after ordering. After watching people came after us got food, I had to explained to my kids that perhaps they had ordered in advance. Suddenly, the waitress who took our order came to our table. Without saying anything, she took away extra sets of dinning ware AND all of the knives in front of us, and left! We waited a little bit longer, and my husband went to ask for our food. After more waiting, the same waitress came to reply that she FORGOT to place our order! How could this happen? I understand that it's possible that someone totally forget a group of five people sitting quite in the middle of the restaurant. But how to explain that she specifically came to our table to remove knives from each of us? A supposed happy family dinning out experience turned spoiled due to the very unpleasant service at the Kolm...

The service was terrible!

The waiter forgot our table for about 20 minutes after bringing us the menus and because of that we got to order at the last moment before the kitchen closed. Then the waiter messed up our order by forgetting my main dish and bringing me two desserts instead and tried to blame it on our group instead of admitting to his mistake. The moment he brought two desserts our group realized his mistake and we notified him and I asked if I could still get my main dish to which he replied "No, the kitchen is closed now" which wouldn't have happened if he had taken our order on time. Also the food had just been brought to us a few seconds ago so how can the kitchen already be instantly closed? After all this the waiter didn't even apologize for his mistake.

Since I only got my dessert then I can say the dessert itself tasted fine.
