Looming Hostel — Hotel in Tartu linn

I can’t put a number grade to the experience because I really love the physical space but also this hostel has given me the WORST experience of all time. ||They don’t let you know or ask your permission to come to your physical space, if you take a private room. ||They have plants in the room so to take cate of them, they don’t let you know they are coming nor ask is it ok to come, they just take their spare key and come into your personal space as they need. You could be showering, you could be butt naked in the middle of the room, you could be being intimate you could be sleeping, they just come in. They came in when I was sleeping, as they had not given information beforehand that they’d need to do it, I couldn’t through sleep even understand the knocking was for me as there is a room right next door, I thought “nobody has business coming here, must be for next door” and they just came in. When I confronted them about it, their excuse was “that they didn’t know I was there”, meaning they normally just snoop around your private space without you knowing, when you’re out. So, if you book a private room, know it’s not private. I was there for 2 years for school sessions and recently found that out and now I’m scarred for the indefinite time, don’t know how to come out of 2 years of personal space being violated. If you have a trauma background, I suggest keeping away from this place. ||It’s a shame cause the physical environment is really pretty, the mission of the place is wonderful - all types of eco living is practiced there. Still, it does not accept violating peoples privacy so, make your choices wisely. They could have let know when checking in, they could ask beforehand if it’s ok to come (one of them did and I watered the plants and they were all fine) but literally the next day some person just barged into my private space. Horrible feeling. They could leave instructions on how to water the plants and let know upon check in that this duty comes with the room or they could choose their options and have someone else do it - out of all the good or semigood options, they use the only nit good one - just coming into your space without telling you and that is emotional, physical, mental abuse. ||||I was a devoted fan of this place and now - never again staying there!!!!||||If you’ve stayed in their private rooms, chances are, your private space has been continuously...

Kirjoitan seuraavan arvostelun suomeksi, jotta suurempi määrä meistä huomaisi myös tämänlaiset majoitusvaihtoehdot.

Yövyin 2 yötä 2.6.-4.6. tässä hostellissa huoneessa, jossa oli 16 vuodepaikkaa. Tämä ei tietenkään tarkoita, että joutuu nukkumaan pienessä kopissa 15 tuntemattoman kanssa. Huone oli suuri ja vaikka olisikin ollut enemmän vieraita, se olisi todennäköisesti ollut siedettävää silti. Nyt vähän yleisistä piirteistä: hostelli sijaitsee Tartton rautatieaseman välittömässä läheisyydessä erään asuinrakennuksen ylimmässä kerroksessa, läheltä löytyy myös keskikokoinen ruokakauppa. Tarton linja-autoasemalle on useampi kilometri matkaa. Sisäänkirjautuminen on virallisesti mahdollista ainoastaan 11:00-21:00. Näiden aikojen ulkopuolella saavuttaessa tulee ottaa yhteys etukäteen hostelliin sähköpostitse. Vaikken kovin paljoa syventynyt hostellin kuvaukseen tai olemukseen ennen varaamista, olin positiivisesti yllättynyt. Maksoin peruutusvaihtoehdolla n. 21€/yö, vaikka varauksen tein vasta muutama päivä ennen matkaa. Looming hostellista aistin heti opiskelija-asuntola tai hippikommuuni-tunnelman. Suihkut ja vessat ovat yhteisiä kuten aina hostellissa. Pyyhkeitä oli vuokrattavissa euron nimellishintaan. Jopa suihkusaippuaa ja shampoota oli jätetty vapaaseen ilmaiskäyttöön. Keittiö on suuri ja sieltä löytyy jääkaappi, liesi, uuni, mikroaaltouuni ja vedenkeitin. Tiskiainetta ja astioita on todella paljon talon puolesta. Keittiöstä heti huomaa, että täällä otetaan ekologisuus vakavasti: kierrätystä kannustetaan ja lajitteluastioita on joka lähtöön, myös ruokaylijäämän jättämistä seuraaville viersille kehotetaan. Ilmaista ruokaa tai ainakin ruoka-aineksia löytyy siis. Hostellista löytyy myös olohuone, mutta siellä en aikaani viettänyt sillä pidin kattoterassia huomattavasti enemmän viehättävänä. Vaikutti loistavalta paikalta viettää kesäpäivä jutellen muiden matkustajien kanssa. Tietenkin hostellissa yövyttäessä iso osa kokemuksesta riippuu huonetoverilotosta, jossa voi joko voittaa uuden hyvän ystävän tai kärsiä tappioita närkästyksen ja unen laadun saroilla. Haluan suositella tätä hostellia lämpimästi kaikille! Tallinnasta 2h 5min - 2h 30min junalla Tarttoon. Tarttosta pääsee tietenkin sitten linja-autoilla tai junalla eteenpäin tutkimaan Viron maaseutua. Henkilöstö osaa ainakin viroa ja englantia. Hostelli tarjoaa myös -5% alennuksen kansainvälisen ISIC-opiskelijakortin haltijoille, jos varaus on tehty hostellin omilta...

I just had a one-night stay at the hostel and it was a great experience. The late check-in went smoothly, which was really convenient. The rooms and common areas are very cozy and well-maintained. I was impressed with the cleanliness and the friendliness of the staff, who made sure I felt welcome.

The hostel is in a safe neighborhood with some interesting places to visit within walking distance. It's also conveniently located about 20 minutes from the central bus station, with a bus stop right in front of the hostel. Kitchen is well equipped and Internet works well.

What really stood out to me was the Hostels focus on being environmentally friendly. They've done a lot with upcycling and have plenty of tips on how guests can reduce their environmental impact. Overall, it was a very nice and...
