Bastion Bistro — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

Reading all the praise given before, maybe they just had a really bad day. However, during the 1 h 45 min we spent there: At arrival, we noticed a sign guiding the guests to wait to be shown to tables. Waited for a short while only to hear that we should go grab a table. When we asked where we would get the menus, we heard that they would be found on the tables. Found them at a side table. After waiting for maybe 15 minutes to be noticed in any way, we asked if we could order. Without even looking at us and instead looking quite bored the waitress told that it would take a little while still. After maybe another 15 minutes and another request to order, we were able to place our order. During the next 1 hour and 10 minutes we saw 3-4 people who had ordered after us get their meals after a significant wait, one tablefull get their main courses before their hor d'oeuvres, a waitress trip and pour another table's drink on the customer and the table, a bird feeding on the plate of the table next by and people generally having trouble getting their bills. After 1 h and 40 min at the restaurant had gone by, we asked if our order was one the way. A kinder waitress told that they would look into it. We were just too hungry to wait anymore and left after only 5 more minutes.

An unhurried atmosphere can be something to aspire to. Professionalism is another thing...

I strongly recommend that you do not go to this restaurant. We waited at the table but were not given a menu despite being told we would get one. We decided to order our food ourselves using a QR code. We had to wait 2 hours for the food, and we never received any updates regarding our order. All the restaurant's customers were waiting for their orders, and most had already been waiting for an hour by the time we arrived. No one received an apology. Indifferent and poor customer service. We eventually got a single scoop of ice cream thrown onto a plate as compensation. The food itself was okay. Not suitable for families with children and not worth visiting if you can't wait a couple of hours without food. I feel sorry for the tourists and, as a Finn, I feel embarrassed because the...

I highly advise you NOT to go there. We ordered at 12 and after one hour we asked if our drinks and food were forgotten. We were told it would arrive soon and it took another half hour when two of three meals arrived but no drinks. The neighbor table had the same problem. The drinks arrived a few minutes after and we waited another half hour for our third meal (and asked multiple times about it in the meantime). Because we had to catch our ferry we were forced to leave and asked for a refund. It took another 15 minutes and multiple waiters and the chef to tell us that it is not possible. We left our bank number there and asked to please send us the money this way.
