"Modern" museology gone terribly wrong! Visiting this museum might indeed be quite interesting, but the way the tour is currently organized makes the visit pretty annoying.
First, there are no audioguides or written explanations. The only thing you can do is scan a QR code with your phone to get the descriptions from some website. There you can either listen to the text aloud (well, who on Earth takes earphones to a museum?!), which makes it an annoyance for all other visitors; or you can read the text yourself.
But if you'd also like to take some pictures, that means you've constantly got to switch between different apps, which makes for quite a hustle. Also the signal is quite bad around here and the museum WIFI doesn't reach out further than the first rooms. My partner had to walk back to the front desk for being able to load the new information for almost every room. How silly is that?!
But the worst of all is that the Finnish texts for the rooms have obviously been machine translated to other languages and are then spoken out by some AI voice which indeed doesn't do a too bad job trying to sound like a native speaker.
Just that those machine translated texts for French, German, English and most probably all other languages texts are full of absurd mistakes any native speaker would notice (and correct) immediately. Sometimes the computer voice even stops reading right in the middle of a word.
All this leaves the information given barely understandable. I would therefore strongly recommend to the museum to stop that experiment instantly, as it ruins the whole experience. Returning to text on paper (as long as it is translated properly by humans) would better the situation...
