Café Vanille — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

I came here while visiting Suomenlinna. A lot of the other restaurants were too expensive for my budget. I needed something filling that wasn't too much. A lot of the cakes and sweets looked great here but I ended up getting one of the meat pies. I wish I grabbed their names but I forgot to. I believe there was only one type of meatpie on the menu.

The meatpies were decently filling. I could have wished for a little more meat. However I really liked the dough that the meat was baked into. Its bready texture was delicious and unlike any other meat pastry that I have ever had.

Definitely a good way to stave off hunger while waiting to get back to...

This is one of the places we must stop at for a hot chocolate when we visit Suomenlinna - summer or winter its always a little reward after exploring on the island.

The cafe is very small with just a few tables - more outside in the good weather but somehow we always managed to get somewhere to sit and spend a few moments. The hot chocolate is just the right size too not massive like in some places so children can't finish it and is properly made too not just the ready powder mix as in some other places.

Amazing, cozy place with no-laptop policy (10/10, super cool) Visited with my friend and dog 25.02.2025, barista was super nice, brough us water bowl for my dog and made very good kakao, the mint one was tooo sweet, but it's the preference thing, the quiche was perfect 👌 Not to much space, but there is everything you need for a good coffee brake.
