At an airport quick service is important. Olearys at Helsinki Airport does not understand this. We had to wait a few minutes before getting a table and with 35 minutes until boarding we ordered some food and told the waitress we were in a hurry. She took the order with a smile and soon returned with our beverages. After 25 minutes I asked where our food was and was told it always takes 35 to 45 minutes to get the food and that the waitress should have told us that. When I explained we only had 10 minutes until boarding and that no one had told us about their extremely long waiting time they promised our food would be delivered within 2 minutes. After 10 minutes when we still hadn't received our food we told them we had to leave and said that they should have informed us about the waiting time, especially when we said we were in a hurry, the staff became very rude and starting lying about how they did tell us about the waiting time. Do not eat here unless you have several hours to spare. I can't tell you about the quality of the food since I...
Read moreYou probably know O'Learys from a lot of airports, the food quality is quite consistent, but like with lot of other locations they have, slow service is really an issue, and given the airport location, it's often a deal breaker. This time I had a relatively long layover so, I arrived around noon and connecting flight would be 6 pm so I had good time. I decided to time the service due to previous bad experiences, and I was still quite shocked how bad it is. I stood 15 minutes by the sign that says "wait to be served" by the door, a 10 minutes between getting to the table and getting menu, 15 minutes for a drink, good 45 minutes for my meal and whopping 30 minutes to get a bill, which I had to ask twice. It's a good restaurant for few beers and the wings are usually ok and fast, but I wouldn't bother ordering anything else. Especially in Helsinki airport you'll find oak barrel for better beers and for other foods you can just as well use the snack eateries for faster service and just...
Read moreI have never in my life even imagined that a basic cheeseburger could be so badly mutilated into something absolutely inedible. The toppings, cheese, grilled peppers, etc, were topped off with three tablespoons of barbeque seasoning - something Finns can be quite fond of, but it DOES NOT belong in a burger....especially if it is not listed in the menu. The resulting taste was a revolting burn of a tablespoon of seasoning straight into your mouth, no warning issued. The beef patty was essentially boiled in heat directly from frozen, gray in color, and absolutely bone dry. "Coleslaw" made into creme fraiche, or similar, basically voiding it as coleslaw. Cabbage used had not been drained, nor was there even a hint of vinegar in the flavor. The only thing I actually finished was the pickle. Yum. Bottom line, listen to the others on this site: Stay the...
