Easily one of the best stays I've had at a hotel.
Even before arrival, I was contacted by staff who wanted to check ETA. Once I got there, staff were welcoming and lovely.
The hotel room was nice and spacious. Had a TV and even a bidet in the bathroom. Also felt very safe too. Because you couldn't even enter each floor without the key provided. Each floor has a communal area and kitchen. And there's even a sauna on the top floor.
Breakfast was complimentary and I was impressed by the variety. They had porridge, every type of spread and condiment you could think of, eggs, chicken meatballs, falafels (it's rare for hotels to have both warm meat and veg options), different types of bread, cheeses and meat slices, a salad bar, hot drinks bar, biscuit area (so many different types), yoghurt station, cereal station, different types of juice, fresh orange juice, and porridge.
The breakfast area also had a children's play area. This was so nice to see. As this is not as common these days. Staff were also quickly replenishing any food. So, baskets were never empty.
It's clear the staff have very carefully thought about their services. What's even more impressive is that they share a building with university accommodation. You wouldn't even realise because the service was that brilliant.
(P.S. please ignore the negative reviews. I've been to many hotels and this level of customer service isn't...
Read moreI stayed in Töölö Towers for 6 months in 2021 in one of their 30m2 or so appartments, and really enjoyed it as a longterm stay. Though the rooms get let out for short term stay, it is overall more set up for long term. For example, because of this the rooms are quite sparse in terms of decoration, to keep it neutral for your own decorations. You are also expected to do most things yourself, like throwing away trash and daily cleaning.
Things I liked during my stay: 5min walk from a nice beach close to supermarket (tho one of the expensive ones) close to several city bike hubs close to tram stations nice view friendly staff weekly cleaning that was great particularly during very busy times sauna laundry room
Downsides: it was frustrating that i had no option but to pay for breakfast. I hardly ever used it as i stayed longterm, so a lot of money wasted. it's expensive (the whole area is also one of the more expensive central areas of Helsinki) those couch colours are awful haha
However, overall I really enjoyed my stay and if I would ever need to spend a few weeks or months in Helsinki again, I would be happy...
Read moreFirst of all, Töölö Towers is not a hotel by definition. The building complex was (or maybe still is?) an accommodation for students, like a dorm = a hall.
I had a clean and spacious room in building A with a great view (from an upper floor). What I liked best about the room: There is even a small fridge in the cupboard!
The bathroom has a shower and the toilet in it. Shower gel, a hairdryer, toilet paper and towels are in the bathroom.
Room service is only available if you stay for at least a week.
There is a lift in every building. On every floor there is a well equipped kitchen unit for cooking. However, you must wash your used dishes yourself after using as there is no cleaning service. In the kitchen section there are also chairs and tables. Next to the kitchen there is a lounge.
On the 11th floor in building A there are 2 saunas (one for men, one for women).
Next to the buildings there is a park. The tram and bus station are within a 3-minute walking distance. A big supermarket is up the street only a few minutes walk away.
All in all I would really recommend a stay in Töölö Towers because you get very good value...
