While our waitress was professional and kind, the food and other service staff were rude, and seemed displeased to be there and even more displeased we were there. The shrimp scampi came out sweet like candy and left me nauseated and the rest of my party agreed that it was not right. I had never had a sweet/sugary pasta dish and this was more like dessert, which was odd with shrimp and asparagus pieces in it. The description said it should have been chili/garlic marinated with sundried tomatoes and fresh green asparagus with spring onions and parmesan flakes. There was no chili or garlic in the flavor. The bottom of the plate looked red and syrupy and there were no parmesan flakes. Additionally, the salad bar was lackluster and while they had oil, they claimed to not have balsamic vinegar. One dish did come out good and that was the pollo pasta. The other one was the Bolognese and it was missing the rich sauce usually found with Finnish Bolognese pasta. Instead there were tiny meat crumbles and it was dry and lacking flavor. We asked for some garlic and our sweet waitress wonderfully gave us a nice dish of it to try to fix up the bland and dry pasta dish. Although all of our dishes were supposed to be garnished with "parmesan flakes" none of us received that standard Italian cuisine topping. I am not one to complain at restaurants, but I did ask about my dish because there was no way that a mistake wasn't made in its preparation. The answer given by the chef, relayed again through my incredibly kind waitress, was that it was made with a sweet pepper jam. Well, that is not at all the description or any scampi recipe I've ever come across. We will not go here ever again. I feel bad for the staff and other customers that unwittingly go here thinking that the decor and pricing indicates a quality meal. Instead we spent way too much to spend the rest of the day disappointed in our...
Read moreGas-station quality food. Don't eat here. For details, keep reading. Tiny quantity of starter with one thumb size bread and cold cheese. Free salad bar was better than the starter. Main courses were terrible. Pasta dishes use cheap pasta from shops. Pizza dough was like a naan/roti. Tomato sauce had a bad taste. Cheese was really terrible in flavour. Toppings were the cheapest can-food you can find. As for sweet dishes, ice cream was probably from grocery shop too.. and strawberries were certainly the type you get as frozen fruits in grocery shops. It's quite difficult to make such a terrible food. I should give them credit for making such a bad food and be able to...
Read moreA tired looking restaurant with a lot of competitors very close by even the S Group which owns Rosso have set up a pasta restaurant directly opposite. Despite this, as this is the only Rosso left in the capital area we decided to give it a try as we had a good experience in the Tampere and Porvoo ones previously.
The menu was the same as other Rossos of course but the amount of food a bit smaller - at least on the pasta and "from the grill" selections. It was still just as good to eat though. I would probably try the other restaurant opposite next time I am in the...
