Original review... (updated review see below) This renovated building has opened after the COVID-19 lockdown, even at such a risk, they managed to get the refurbishment done, irrespective of the circumstances. Congratulations for that. The concept of a pub and restaurant is really needed in the city. The decor is nice and rustic to match the interior of the building. The service is welcoming and reservations only so there is a for greeting, which is quite good for Finnish restaurant standards. The food costs are ok, the waiting service is a mix. Some nice mannerism, but untrained to handle difficult situations. For example the creme brulee was runny, no apologies, rather they were going to offer another one, but after when everyone else had eaten their desert. This is a big minus for what was an otherwise OK experience. Other reasons for the three stars. Positive, Main food presented well, acceptable cooking. child menu includes pencils to draw on it and take home. Instead bread for the child, there are carrots and cucumber. Opening bottle of wine with explanation of wine was given the opportunity to taste. Toilets have hand cream available. Natural feel with wooded tables and chairs. Negative, the strange concept for having bread and butter, but no side plates. Grilled root vegetables were a bit undercooked, but better than burnt! both white and red wine poured into same size glasses, when they have large red wine glasses available. No signs on doors to know there are toilets. As it is new, waiting times are long as there isn't enough staff. No clear up of bread bin before food arrives.

The waiting staff still requires more experience in working with customers if they want to increase their comfort and enjoyment from dining. --updated review 2nd April 2022 Unfortunately a disappointing return to the restaurant.. Although I've been to the pub a few times for nice drinks, unfortunately the food and dining didn't reach any level of satisfaction. In fact, the restaurant recognise the problems and we left without any charge on bill (given we had 30E voucher applied, it wasn't that much that in the end).

Firstly, I preferred a beer, and it was served in a wine glass!! That was changed to a beer glad upon request.

Secondly, still only one vegetarian option.. A potato pancake! This came out extremely greasy, and after a few conversations with the waitress, the chefs, they stated this was what it was supposed to be like that. Given they stated the creme brulee should have been runny, I am doubtful they know what they are talking about.

Thirdly, the child's meal came out first (why is there ketchup with vegetables?), she had almost eaten it all before the adult food came out. So then, while the adults were eating, the child gets bored... Making it difficult for the adults to eat with pleasure. The waitress said that is normal for them to bring the child dish first! I am doubtful this is an effective practice, and is not something I've experienced in other places.

Lastly, although the fish dish was nice, with a balance of crispness and freshness, it was served (as with all dishes) in a pasta bowl, rather than a plate, which made it awkward to eat the food.

Overall, the staff still have yet to had how to be better at staffing, the kitchen still doesn't know how to make good vegetarian food, and the style of presentation has much to be desired. As such, I'm sad to rate it down from a 3 to a 2. The building is really nice, but it still needs a lot of work to make it a stand out place in the city, as there are not that...

I have always wanted to go to Ravintola Filipof since a friend recommended it around October last year, and finally I was able to go.

Ravintola Filipof is in the mid-casual dining type of restaurant: not very casual but not very upscale either. It is somewhere you can go if you want to experience a relaxed but beautifully interiored place with good food.

My friends and I went there for lunch. Their lunch menu offering starts at 11:00 to 14:00. We arrived around 11:30. We stood on a queue where the server will get our orders and sit us.

I ordered overcooked pork neck with cabbage and apples as a meal (~12 euro) and prosecco as a drink (7 euro). I was then pointed to our seat.

They served us two salads as starters (I forgot the names). The main meal followed after some time. Everything was absolutely delicious!

There is free coffee, tea, and some biscuits on one side of the restaurant that one can avail while having lunch. I absolutely liked the chocolate-centered biscuits that I got.

Overall, an amazing lunch experience. I am so very happy I was able to go here. This place has been recommended to me many times and it truly is...

Very tasty and very well prepared food which compliments the season ingredients. The atmosphere is beautiful and service wonderful. We tried a little bit of everything and realised that some of the same ingredients were used on several dishes (which makes sense business wise), and - don’t get me wrong, they were all delicious - but would have loved some variations as this place clearly knows what they are doing! Definitely...
