Rosso, Jyväskylä — Restaurant in Jyväskylä sub-region

I was in Jyväskylä for Rally Finland and ate at Rosso three times. The food is excellent and the service is great too. Prices are reasonable for Scandinavia. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I can highly recommend the grilled beef liver (accompanied by a glass of red wine); the spaghetti with prawns and chilli; and the grilled steak. Requests for extra vegetables or different sauces were happily accommodated. The salad bar was fresh and varied. The restaurant is comfortable and even if it's busy it doesn't feel crowded. There's no loud music, so conversation is easy and provides a good atmosphere to just enjoy the food. Showed up at 2 pm on a Friday. Restaurant is mostly empty. Server was inpolite from the beginning. We both ordered wine bit completely unable to make eye contact with her for half an hour to get water. I had to go to the bathroom to fill up my wine glass with water. After 45 minutes our food was delivered. My partners' pizza was missing the garlic he'd ordered. My garlic bread (appetizer delivered with the other food)was dried out and I'd have not eaten it except I was starving and my entree was inedible. Veg pasta just has some kind of incredibly foul flavor in addition to being overly sweet. How on earth should pasta sauce be sweet. Our first impression is very good; we reserved a table for 2 adults and 1 toddler online and when we arrived they placed us nicely next to the play area. Our kid liked that a lot - especially the balloons! The food was pretty good, very tasty and reasonably priced. For a chain restaurant I was even slightly impressed. The side salad however was not very unique, maybe a bit more variation with actual salad or olives would improve this. The atmosphere was really nice, we went on a Sunday and it was calm.
