Pancho Villa Kajaani — Restaurant in Kajaani sub-region

Service took a little while but when it came, the waitress was sweet and helpful. Really generous portions, especially the fries. Probably the best fries I've had. Very crisp outside while fluffy and soft inside. We got the salmon with aura cheese sauce, steak, enchiladas with pulled pork, tacos with haloumi cheese and a bacon burger. The salmon was a little oily and overly salty but tender. However it wasn't descaled so I ended up with many dirty scales in my mouth, which was pretty unpleasant. The veggies were well cooked with a nice crunch to them. The corn might be the best item on that set; very sweet and juicy. The hamburger had amazing flavour, very savory but balanced, and it was incredibly hearty. One small bite was pretty filling. Highly recommended. The Mexican dishes left little to be desired however. While well cooked and crisp on the outside, the enchilada was too sweet and the texture and flavor of the meat was offputting. The tacos had the same issue and we could not finish them.

In short: Go for the salmon or burgers. The Mexican dishes...

I recently dined at Pancho Villa Kajaani - Mexican restaurant, and it was a fantastic experience! The atmosphere was lively and there was great Mexican decor, which really set the mood for a fun meal. We ordered the large Nacho plate to share between us which was really nice and the BBQ & Parmesan Loaded Crispy Fries which I highly recommend, as they were packed with flavour and topped with fresh spring onions.

Nice place, mexican style food, but keep in mind that the taste is adjusted for the Finnish clientele. Burgers are good and also the lunch buffet is ok.

Service for us was ok and nice (don't expect European style chit chat and constant checking how the food is - this is how the life is here, we talk when a small nod or looking needy is not enough)

Certainly a good restaurant option to consider in Kajaani.

The plus is that there is bowling option in the same venue. The negative is that it is a bit off from the Kauppakatu...
