We began our meal with two extraordinary starters. I had the white fish tartar with local product - lingoncello - beetroot and a lingonberry bread tuille – a beautifully balanced dish where the harmony between saltiness and subtle sourness stood out perfectly. My companion enjoyed the pumpkin soup with pickled apple, mocha crème, and pressed lamb – a comforting, complex, and flavorful dish that brought autumn to life in the most delightful way.

For the mains, we were blown away. I chose the deer filet, paired with what I can confidently say was the best sauce I’ve ever tasted – a rich and deeply flavorful blueberry-game sauce that elevated the dish to another level. My company had the char filet, accompanied by sautéed celery and seasonal vegetables, which was equally fantastic — light, fresh, and beautifully composed.

Throughout the evening, the service at Skilla was outstanding — attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm. Every member of the team showed a clear passion for what they do, and it shines through in every detail of the experience, from presentation to pairing suggestions.

Puolison kanssa illallisella lauantai-iltana. Tunnelmallinen tila kynttilöineen sekä jazz-musiikkeineen loi kiireettömän miljöön. Tarjoilija on ehdottomasti oikeassa ammatissa ja saimmekin äärimmäisen huomaavaista ja hyvää palvelua. Viinisuositukset osuivat myöskin nappiin. Ruoka oli aivan poikkeuksellista. Alkuruokina etanat Roquefort-juustolla sekä rapukeitto gluteenittomana. Noin hyvää keittoa en ole eläessäni maistanut. Jos käyt täällä niin maista ehdottomasti rapukeittoa!

Pääruokina pippuripihvi sekä peura. Molempien lihojen kypsyydet olivat täydelliset ja annokset olivat kokonaisuudessaan erinomaisia. Pakko on kuitenkin erikseen mainita kastikkeista, jotka olivat niin maukkaat, että oltaisiin mielellään juotu niitä vaikka suoraan kupista.

Hyvän ruoan&juoman äärellä katosi ajantaju täysin. Vaikka syötiin vain alku- ja pääruoat niin lähtiessä huomattiin, että aikaa olikin hurahtanut kaksi tuntia.
