Hotel Jahtihovi — Hotel in Kuopio sub-region

We selected this hotel because of the price, location, free breakfast and free parking. We found the hotel easily but unfortunately there was no parking available so we had to leave the car on the side of a road about 100m away from the hotel. It wasn´t a disaster for us but of course I would have preferred the hotels own parking spaces. |||| Check-in was polite and we got all the information we needed for our stay. We booked the cheapest room which was not renovated so I can not blame anyone else but myself for it. It was good for one night stay and the bed was clean and ok to sleep in. The bathroom looked clean but I did not want to stay there more than I had to. Also the room was pretty hot but there was a fan on the table waiting for us which was nice. ||Next morning we were greeted happily by the staff and the breakfast was simple but good. ||||I would consider visiting the hotel again because of the friendly service and good location between harbour and city center but I would definitely book a renovated room. It's not located in the heart of the city but Kuopio is such a small city that it doesn't matter at all, in fact it is a lovely 5 mins walk. The lake is nearby, also a couple of grocery stores if you need them. We are used to stay in apartments that has a fridge so lack of it was a small minus when travelling with a child - it was national holidays and hotel services were closed, only breakfast was served. We managed it though and this hotel was good price especially if you can use all its services (sauna etc.) Breakfast was sufficient.||||In the hallway downstairs there was bad smell. Our room was clean and I think it was quite recently renovated, especially bathroom seemed quite new. This room had beds, table and TV. Wifi as well but did not use it. To my taste it was too hot in the room to sleep. Surroundings around hotel were very quiet, the whole building seemed very very quiet, just saw some other residents during breakfast.||||Good basic hotel...

I picked up the hotel because of the price. As we stayed there for one night arriving late, checking out early, I did not want to pay for anything extra I could not use. This hotel offers good value for money. ||The staff was friendly and helpful. When we arrived, the receptionist recommended us a very good local restaurant just around the corner.
