2h+k — Restaurant in Tampere sub-region

2H+K is a bistro-type restaurant. I've been there a number of times over the years, I mainly remember the cheese-crusted snails, which I recommend, with red wine of course. Tonight I had their lamb burger, which I won't be ordering again. The burger was narrow and tall and was held together with a toothpick, like a club sandwich; this made it difficult to eat, because it fell apart. The meat was fine, but in the middle of a bite, I was surprised by a very cold tomato in my otherwise warm meal. The fries came in a mini bucket on the plate, they were crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle, as they should be, but much too salty. The presentation was nice and well thought of in a bistro style, but my mayo (which they don't prepare in house) came in a plastic cup from which they had just removed the lid. All in all, I like the place, I would recommend it, but that burger - every good bit about it was counterbalanced by a litter of annoyances. They have a couple of nice beers on draft, so...

Went here for dinner a year ago and was disappointed. Tried again today for lunch and really enjoyed. Nice simple salad (very hard to find in Tampere) with a variety of leaves with lovely salad dressing (and no mayonnaise in sight - thank goodness!) and delicious tapanade with baguette. Minute pork steak with mashed potatoes and a peppercorn sauce to die for. Again flavours matched (and the right amount of flavours on the plate at the same time) and thank goodness only one, beautiful, sauce. My only niggle would be the embellishment cress was put on top of the steak and so with the heat was limp and lacklustre....

The appetizers were particularly good, with the Salmon Ceviche and Escargots being two of the standout dishes.

The Salmon Ceviche was fresh and flavorful, with the perfect balance of acidity and spice. The Escargots were cooked perfectly and had a nice garlicky flavor.

However, the main course was a bit of a disappointment. The Overcooked Pork Cheek had a strange aftertaste. The taste that could be described as follows, maybe a bit old and boiled meat without any spices.
