Ravintola Myllärit — Restaurant in Tampere sub-region

There are many positive reviews but most seem to be about lunch buffet. I was here to eat dinner and it was not so nice.

1- The price is too high compared to portion size. It was half of what I expected. 2- I ordered chicken with cider sauce and the chicken was dry and the portion was too small. I expected some side dish like fries but it was just a piece of chicken on the plate. 3- The menu is very poorly designed. There is just basic info about the food printed and hand cut badly with laser printer. There are no photos of food and you get surprised when you see how small the portion is. 4- The table we sat had a strange table cover, it was more like a rug. And it was thick and made eating difficult. The plates wouldn't stand still on it and they were moving. See photo.

I visited Myllärit for lunch today, as they offered a dish from my home country (Currywurst). I expected them to get it wrong, but apart from having mashed potatoes instead if fries, this wouldn't have to hide from many German restaurants. Well done Myllärit.

As for the restaurant itself, I can't say much about how it is outside of lunch hours, but for lunch they seem to have a good selection of changing meals, and a nice atmosphere that makes lunch feel like a very good break from work.

Would recommend.

What a lovely dinner. We had an early reservation so it was relatively quiet when we arrived. But by the time we left it looked liie every table was full, so reservation os recommended.
