Hotel and cafe Amandis is located right in the middle of Naantali - in between harbor and old church. The main building caters the cafe that has specialized on waffles with all kind of fillings - those we tried were delicious. The cafe has terraces and catered terrace overlooking nicely over the harbor and even President's summer residence over the bay. The reception of the hotel is located at the counter of cafe that causes occasional queuing. The 6 rooms are tastefully decorated, lately renovated and are located right behind the main building. The rooms are size wise large and bathrooms bright. Little attention to the details (i.e. big, good quality bath towels and good quality hand soap. Note that there is no a/c so in the warm days you may have to keep the windows open to the street behind. We woke up twice early in the morning due to lorries delivering goods to the restaurants and collecting rubbish. The breakfast was disappointment: although they told us that they do not offer real breakfast, but invited us to have something, at this price you would expect something decent (i.e. waffles). No they had coffee, tea and bread with cheese and ham. When you pay 200+ euros per night your expectation level is higher. However, strongly...

The in house dog was nice to pet and say hello to also :) --- Would have given this 4 stars but firstly there was no English menu, which is weird in a town like Naantali which is a tourist kinda spot. Then when I enquired about which waffles were gluten free for my son I was informed that one containing Nutella was not gluten free even though the menu board at the counter stated that all waffles are gluten free. After going back to ask how can this be I was informed that it was their mistake and that in fact it is gluten free. Just would have been nice if the staff were better informed and my son could have ordered what he wanted before he had ordered something else. An English menu would also be a big plus. Other than these things the waffles were very tasty and even though slightly overpriced still worth it for the great location with some lovely sea views. The food was...
Read moreThe location is absolutely great in the most central place in Naantali. There are many things to see, the harbor and places to eat nearby. The hotel is an old long wooden house and 6 apartments. You can park your car in the yard and there is a restaurant in the same connection. The rooms are very clean and you can see from the interior that quality has been invested in. High-quality furniture, beautiful style, international quality was also in the lamps. Very quiet room and the setting for a good night's sleep. Breakfast was in the restaurant and just a filled waffle was a pretty poor breakfast. I would have expected a better set. However, the overall quality and the quality of the stay were really good...
