This place is located at Rewell centre in Vaasa, and soon became my go to restaurant in Vaasa. Even though I am from Vaasa i work in Helsinki, so i travel weekly back to back. I yave tried some of restaurents like Biang, Bankok, Aito fresh located in city centre and some in malmi. Tom yum thai flavors are actually taste beyong what i have tasted in both cities which is really great..and the food spread is simply amazing. From salad, sushi to fried appetizers like fried chicken, fried fish, french fries and sweet potato fries, spring rolls, onion rings etc.. my favorite is batter fried fish thats insanely tasty and something to die for.. and then you will have fried egg rice, fried noodle as the main carbs, then you have a gigantic pan seared salmon, pork stee, beef devillled, prawns, chicken, lamb ( minimum 6 meat items) + dumplings. I think they also have soup but i havent tried that and the teppanyaki menu. Apart from dining in, they also have the option to take away. I always had to take away because i have a small baby at home. But there are all necessary play areas to feeding chairs at the restaurant to help this situation. But both myself and wife prefered to eat at home with the baby, so we always decided to take away. And we never got fed up of the food and the taste. I take 2 people buffet and they orovide necessary boxes to take the food. Unfortunately there were no cups to take the drink as they have glasses. So you can have the free drinks there itself. I have eaten morethan 8 to 10 times now. And i still go here every 2 weeks. Staff is very friendly and helpfull. Owner is also the same. Great food, great...
Read moreWithout a doubt, this is the best restaurant in Vaasa in my opinion. The location is very easy to find — it’s on the second floor of the Rewell shopping center in the city center.
When we arrived, the staff at the front desk were extremely friendly. They asked if we were students and informed us that students can enjoy a discount. Since we had our child with us, they also asked about her age — children aged three and under eat for free. Because it was Father’s Day, the restaurant even upgraded our meal to include the teppanyaki service for free, which was such a pleasant surprise for our family.
After entering the restaurant, we went to get food, and we were lucky enough to find out that the restaurant was offering a special dish of the day — cumin ribs. They were absolutely delicious. In addition, there were big, tender, and flavorful pieces of grilled salmon, fried basa fish, beef noodle soup, braised ribs, stir-fried beef, large shrimp… and a wide variety of sushi. (I don’t eat sushi myself, so I can’t comment on the taste, but the selection looked plentiful and very fresh.)
The restaurant also has a dedicated play area for children with toys that kids can play with (of course, not take home). Our daughter loved it, which allowed both of us to enjoy the meal in peace.
All in all, I highly recommend this place — it was a truly wonderful...
Read moreThis was the first time my friends and I visited Tom Yum Thai restaurant. Overall, I found this place really impressive, and I highly recommend everyone to dine here if they visit Vaasa. Located right inside the Rewell mall, the restaurant is clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated with a modern touch. The cashier that day was also very friendly. We arrived right at lunchtime on a Sunday when the restaurant had just opened, so there was a lot of food available. The four of us opted for the buffet rather than the Teppanyaki.
Regarding the buffet, I found the food plentiful and very diverse. The food was presented beautifully and was also very fresh and delicious. Honestly, I was quite surprised to see so many varieties of sushi. I liked the way they arranged the sushi on the plate; it looked very colorful and extremely appealing to customers ❤️
However, there's a small downside: the sushi had too much rice😅 Both the rolls and the nigiri had very thick layers of rice, and worst of all, it made me feel uncomfortably full after just a few pieces of sushi! Additionally, the rice used for the sushi that day was quite mushy, which made it difficult to appreciate the distinct texture of the rice grains as you typically do with sushi 🤷♀️🤦♀️
I hope the restaurant takes note of this review and pays more attention to the rice used in...
