it’s been about a year and I still have cravings for this cafes food and drink. Something as simple as their bread and jam is done so well that I don’t know if I will ever have bread and jam again in the states. They have a homemade strawberry and rubarb jam that ballances our sweet and sour perfectly. Honestly I don’t know why people don’t make jam out of that combo more often. That paired with the fluffy homemade bread made me want to eat nothing else for the entire time we were in that town. This was also the first cafe that turned us on to chai lattes, and while it wasn’t the last great chai we had, it certainly set the bar. They handmade their chai syrup which makes their stand about any others we had before and probably after. Not only that, but the staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is pretty great as well. You would be missing out to not go to this cafe if you...
Read moreIm so glad we stopped by this spot our first day in Aix! Definitely a neighborhood gem. There was a wait, which was already a good sign for us and we didn’t mind putting our names down. We ended up sitting outside and I appreciated having a complimentary blanket to wrap around myself! Breakfast was a simple yet tasty fare of deliciously scrambled eggs (so soft and flavorful) on top of seedy bread with cream cheese. The hash browns were some of the best breakfast potatoes I’ve ever had. The vanilla latte was so good I was contemplating another order. Bacon was crispy- just a bit saltier than I’m used to. But I also asked for a side of their jam (strawberry) and it tied the meal together nicely. To top it off the servers were very friendly! We wanted to go back on Tuesday and were sad to see its closed on Tuesdays! Will hopefully be back one day when we travel to South of...
Read moreBrilliant little cafe in AIX. Came here for half a day to visit the town. Recommended by family this cafe and it didn’t disappoint. Remy and his staff were brilliant, polite and very knowledgeable. The cafe had seats outside and in. The decor inside was bright and airy. Some times little small cafes can feel very dingy due to the colour and layout but Kava was perfect. We had the eggs factor (bacon) and simple eggs (extra hash brown) plus several drinks. Everything was spot on, eggs cooked to perfection too. The homemade chilli jam/dressing that accompanied the meal was fantastic and bought a different taste to the dish, highly recommend. After speaking to Remy, he told us, they actually sell the jam, so we bought several to take home. Keep up the good work guys and see soon...
