The best thing about this hotel is the spa facilities & the swimming pool. There should be slippers in the room & you drop by the gym on the lower floor to get robes & towels. After that, you go down one more level for the small changing area with lockers, then proceed to the indoor hot tub (should fit about 15 people comfortably), dry sauna or steam sauna (a larger one & a smaller one separated by glass door which was handy during COVID separations). There were plenty of shower areas. Just wished the patrons were quieter. There's no chance of simply unwinding & relaxing quietly when there were giggling kids & adults alike who shouted to each other, carrying on loud conversations across the showers & in the saunas. I tried the next day first thing in the morning & had the place to myself for about a half hour before the crowd got noisy again. The swimming pool area was quite big & there were many lounge chairs. The water was a bit chilly even during mid day. My friend & I stayed in rooms 407 & 409. They were adequately comfortable - nothing fancy nor super luxe. Good sized bed, clean & comfortable sheets, ok bathtub/shower combo, a nice balcony & hot tea/coffee set. The food at breakfast was quite good - a lot of fresh options & eggs to order. The location is pretty convenient too - in a quiet area & a short walk to the central area. The staff may have been a bit overwhelmed - they were not too welcoming at the front desk. Stopped by the restaurant/bar between lunch/dinner & asked for a glass of water. The guys told me to come back when they were open. If you're sensitive to smoke, be aware at the outdoor tables & around the swimming pool area. Many patrons smoked...
Read moreI booked the hotel for a company event, and instead of being a good hotel in terms of installations and location, really poor service. We were 20 pax and 20 rooms, once check-in done and after the dinner, one of them found another person staying in his room, his luggage had been collected and moved to reception. No one called to advise, he arrived and went to reception to inform that the key were not open the room door and they didn ´t informed him, they updated the key and he entered finding there someone sleeping. He was worried about his computer and everything was ar reception. When I asked for the responsible to ask for an explanation, he told that he was not aware, that no one saw the customer entering the hotel at night, but he went to reception to claim that the key were out… Finally to add that the responsible, Marc did nt ask for excuses, treating the big mistake as something without importance, do you imagine open your room door and someone sleeping in your assigned room? Were so difficult to advise us by mail or phone? Coudln t they inform him when he went to reception and avoiding so complicated situation for the customer? Was it not easier to assign a new room to the other person instead of manipulate my customer personal things and let him to have an experience so negative? How can so much things go wrong? I can t recommend this Hotel because they can t manage correctly in case any...
Read moreOur in-car gps took us exactly to the hotel but bollard in the middle of the street was a problem. To get to hotel parking garage suggest using this address 19 Rue Jacques|de la Roque|13100 Aix-en-Provence, France followed by address of hotel. This will avoid the bollard and the slow drive through the old part of town. |Chloe was helpful from the moment we arrived. David at the pool bar very helpful. Eating at the restaurant gets an F from me. It’s like the chefs are trying to put out pretty, unique food with little regard for also creating comfort food. Breakfast eggs too dry, Caesar salad too difficult to cut the spears of lettuce in the bowl which wasn’t made for cutting. The chef should try to eat what they make! These two early experiences drove us to find alternate places to eat. |The hotel itself is very nice. Air conditioning is controlled by the hotel. Ours was set at 22C or 71.6F. Rooms have refrigerators. Pool is great, spa area is very nice. Hotel is well located for visiting Aix on foot. |For breakfast try these two bakeries which open early enough. On the way to the bakery there is one small grocery store which opens at 7:30 as well as a nearby fruit stand. |Les Moulin des Artistes|36 Pl. des Tanneurs, 13100 Aix-en-Provence, France|Boulangerie Paul|3 Avenue du Maréchal Foch, 13100 Aix-en-Provence, France|Five minutes walk out the side door is a piazza with multiple outdoor...
